I figured I'd start a thread to post leaks as they show up, since I've come across what seems to be the first:

 

Twitter user @kokuo2424 posted a picture of the pages showing new SDs along with the following info:

Assuming it's accurate, I'd guess that means new outfits as well since rereleases seem to always get them, and perhaps they'd do more extra outfits too.

Hmm. I'd really like to see more of it but I guess it's too soon to get more pics. I'm planning to get Ranka someday anyway, but I don't know if I'd spring for a rerelease over her first one since I like that one's outfit. I guess they'll be on the new frame if this is accurate though, so if it's a big improvement that could be a big selling point to get the Sheryl and Ranka in a new release. They've got a lot of neat outfits too, so I don't doubt they'd turn out stunning.

 

I guess the online version will be up in a little bit though, so I won't worry as much about incomplete scans as before. Kinda expected one of those older announcements (Kaede, Nanao, 2B, 9S) to show up instead, but this is cool.

Sheryl and Ranka, and any additional outfits, will more than likely only be available via Volks International/Japan, because of Harmony Gold. So if they are lottery, unlike with Sailor Moon, there likely won't be a second chance to get them.

 

I've been comtemplating getting Sheryl for a while; now I have to wait and see what outfit she has this time. Ranka I hope gets something I like more; her default is just ok to me but I didn't really like the extra outfits they have made for her so far.

 

So that makes those two being in the Best Selection voting weird.

That's extra bizarre. That's the same default outfits, and the same additional ones, yet missing Sheryl's military outfit which was a later release (I think). It's like an exact encore of their original release.

 

If I couldn't see the 2018 on the first page scan, I'd think I was just looking at the Volks News from when they were first released! (Not that I know what the page layout looked like then, it might have looked different of course.)

 

If we don't get anything new with them then I'll be disappointed too.

 

By Mandarake prices, Sheryl is a little less expensive to buy new because she's 80,000 yen there, but Ranka is cheaper on Mandarake at 60,000. Anyway, it's not like Idolmaster girls or others that are 100K+. It also makes having Ranka in the current voting and Sheryl in the last one somewhat redundant.

Even if it's for an anniversary you'd think that they'd change the outfits. I still want to hope that somehow they'll have new outfits or something but I know that's not happening ;_;

Bright side? Luka comes with TAKO LUKA!

Looking at the other stuff shown there, I like the cheongsams. I also see a new version of the nurse outfits with the white one now having a pink/beige sweater instead of black, and a blue outfit instead of pink this time, and as typical now the (ugly) shoes are sold separately.

 

The SD16 girl wearing the pretty black dress (the "Long Cardigan and Tight One-Piece Set") is wearing some nice black high-heeled sandals that I hope are being made available but I don't see them on the page with the shoes.

 

Yeah, Tako Luka is great.

But Luka's extra outfit is also a disappointment to me.

Luka’s extra outfit is her outfit from Senbonzakura, they’re making those outfits for every vocaloid DD. It was announced the same time she was I believe so it’s not really a surprise. Although I admit it’s less interesting compared to the ones Miku/Rin/Len/Kaito/Meiko have.

Yeah but I hoped for a second outfit. Sheryl and Ranka have two each both originally and in this rerelease.

 

Hopefully she'll be more like Miku and get a bunch rather than Rin and Len who haven't gotten much.

I thought of that too; perhaps so. The only other case I can think of things being available again in the same form is Miku and Snow Miku, and those I wouldn't doubt are from the same production.

 

Another thing I thought of is maybe it was simpler to license a rerelease if nothing was changed.

 

If so they've held onto these for quite some time, but perhaps that was just always the plan for the Macross Frontier 10th Anniversary.

 

I forgot that Ranka also got a later outfit that isn't in this rerelease as well.

Nope. I could make out in one of the scans that Sheryl is still a DDIII. I think this is expected though as presumably these are lottery dolls, meaning they'll be shipped out long before Jeanne and Saber, so the new bodies may not still be ready yet. Or if Bellatrix is right and these are just leftover production that would explain it as well.

But volks do excess stock rereleases often without labeling them as rereleases in that manner (ie Rin/Len, SDC Reee and YoSD Kanon/Neon got several rereleases only announced on twitter). The ‘only reason’ is just the 10th anniversary. They’re also setting up an idol stage thing at Dolpa with part of it Macross themed and part of it Vocaloid themed. (and none of it idolm@ster themed lol)

As someone who had been hoping for something a little more exciting for a JointFest Dolpa it’s kind of a let down, but at least with the two SDGr girls Luka isn’t the only new doll (The only new DD, though). And it’s yet another instance of Volks throwing off my predictions for the year with something unexpected. At this point I feel like August Dolpa has -got- to be at least ONE of the remaining announced dolls (Nier/Idolm@ster) but really who knows anymore 8’)

But I really don't understand this rerelease. Considering the voting for Best Dollfie just started, it's not like people asked for them already, so...? Really disappointed...

I wonder if there's a reason for this. Maybe something happened with the other doll they wanted to release or... I don't know. So disappointed. I want to see what clothes they'll release.

It would be nice if they released some new outfits for Ranka and Sheryl.

 

About the only other iconic I can think of for Sheryl is her military uniform with flag from Wings of Goodbye. Oh! Her nurse outfit! Yes, she definitely needs her nurse outfit! Sheryl nurse

 

The one I feel they NEED to make for Ranka is her pink ensemble she wears at the end of False Songstress. Her concert outfit for Rainbow Colored Bear is another mandatory.

I like the Luka Senbonzakura outfit, and will probably get it for one of my girls as her maid outfit. There were also a couple other outfits I'd like to get, but we'll see when they are released.

I'm pretty meh on this release, as I have been on Volks for... a long time, it feels like?

 

It's been SO long since I was wowed by a Volks outfit. It looks like the last time I went for an outfit was in August 2015 (it was lotto and I lost). The last time I actually BOUGHT clothes from Volks was apparently in August 2014.

 

I mean, yes, I've bought dolls during that period but outfits, apparently not.

I was thinking that too. Early on in the last round, I voted for Sheryl a few times. It's easy to buy her aftermarket and she only has a slight markup, but I was hoping to get a new outfit that way. Now I feel like I was wasting my votes, as would anyone who voted for her or for Ranka in the current poll.

This is kind of what I was thinking as well, a rerelease like those but treating it like it's something more special due to the Macross anniversary.

Sheryl's military uniform is also the only outfit that's signifcantly more expensive now from pricing on Mandarake.

 

Another Ranka--I've thought about two as well as I think her head sculpt might be a good one to have repainted to make Lynn Minmay.

 

I'll probably enter the lottery for Sheryl. I've wanted her but needed to not spend that now and she's readily available on Mandarake and the price seems stable. Especially after seeing yours I like Ranka too but I can't do both at once and she's cheaper aftermarket than new anyway so there's no pressing need there.

 

It would be nice if they released some new outfits for Ranka and Sheryl.

I was thinking about this too and it seems like a real possibility. I've suspected that a reason they typically don't release extra outfits long after the dolls' original releases is then people may want them and the dolls that don't already own the dolls and can't really buy them then except for aftermarket.
