I wonder if you haven't hit the nail on the head with Mad Hatter then. It does come with rabbit ears doesn't it?

Sucks about the hat; good thing I missed it I guess. The pics on Volks' site make it look huge as well but I was hoping maybe it wasn't really like that. Once I saw the ears attach to it, and are huge themselves, I figured it was gonna be big though. Seems like a lot of the Volks hats are like that; I wanted the witch hat but felt it was too large as well.

 

Considering Sheryl and Ranka aren't expensive on Mandarake I thought they might not sell out quickly. Lucky for me I suppose; I ordered Sheryl just over an hour ago. I kept refreshing the page trying to decide if I could afford her and finally went ahead and ordered. I like Ranka too but not as much and no way I could get both.

Gratz on getting Sheryl. Ranko is really cute too, and I'd be tempted if I wasn't all in on Luka.

Maybe I can still get Ranka someday. Her Mandarake price was already a little less than the price new on Volks, and I could see her going down a little more after this.

 

Maybe depends on what happens in rereleases after the voting. If Takane, Chihaya or Miki Hoshii get rereleases that would be more important for me. And if those don't I'll never have them given their aftermarket pricing.

I voted for Miki every day in the Best Selection. I have mine already, but I know people want her and her price is just silly.

 

I took some head shots of all of them recently for a comparison, but I haven't put them together yet. I need to do a bit more color matching, and make sure the crops are all equal.

I voted for those three every day too. I think Miki is the most expensive iM@S DD now with pricing about like Sasara (about 200K on Mandarake). Chihaya, Takane, Rin Shibuya, and Anastasia I think are in the 100-120K range which is still a lot of markup.

 

I was curious and checked again now. Sheryl and Ranka are still available; basically everything being sold this time is still available except Luka's Senbonzakura outfit, the rabbit ears and the top hat + ears set. I know when I ordered Sheryl one of the magic outfits was unavailable but I guess it was restocked.

If I had known someone wanted Chihaya I'd have voted for her. My other votes were for two DD I have no real interest in, but I know some folks want Kanu, and the third I voted for was wearing an outfit I liked. XD

I've probably mentioned this before, but if you get Chihaya wash her wig thoroughly before putting it on her and until it's clean don't touch it then her without washing your hands. Be prepared to style her bangs some too. Her wig can be rescued, but it takes some effort.

 

If Miki doesn't win I'd suggest looking for heads or rescues. She's awesome, and worth getting. In my case I really liked her in the anime, and ended up wanting her more after I saw it.

That round I always voted for Chihaya and Miki and switched voting for Ranko or Sasara, and I think I voted for Yukiho a few times. I doubt Chihaya will win but she's the one I wanted most.

 

From yours and other posts that wig scares me especially since I've already had a staining disaster from the dye-transfer-to-hands-then-to-doll thing, plus I really dislike dark wig caps, so if I get her I'm going to just use a different wig.

 

I wouldn't really mind just heads if I find non-stained ones for acceptable prices as I don't care for the default pink outfits anyway; not so much the styles as I just don't like that particular material Volks used.

I really wanted to like Cinderella Girls, and hoped the anime would be a good starting place but it ended up not being all that interesting to me in the end as well. I still watched it to the end but IDK, it lacked the "heart" that made the other imas anime really special, though some episodes(namely, Kaede’s) were still great. I’m hoping that the stars align for the Million Live anime to finally(finally) be announced in the coming two days—I know I’m biased since I’m a ML and SideM P, but given how much love and effort was put into the few ML anime pvs released during anniversaries and the new rhythm game, I’m sure that when it finally comes it’ll be incredible.

If you want her to look like Chihaya then I doubt there is a better wig, but you definitely would have to do some work on it. If you don't really care if she looks in character, which is totally fine of course, then there are a lot of cool looks you could give her with different wigs.

If I had seen CG before iDOLM@STER TV I doubt I would have liked it as much as I did. I find I disliked Mio's character in the anime although I like my Mio DD. The original anime is easier to get into because the cast is smaller and it's treated more like an ensemble cast with each girl getting equal focus up until the very end when two of them get a bit of extra focus. You get to know the characters from watching the original, whereas in CG I think you need to start out knowing them from the games or you won't follow it.

 

That said there are some characters from CG that I really want to see made into DD because of the anime. Mika Jougasaki in particular would make a great DD in that gyaru style outfit of hers, and Natsuki Kimura would be great too although I think her hair would be hard to pull off as a wig. I wouldn't complain if Rika Jougasaki was made along with her sister, or if they DD'd the recently crowned CG Nana Abe. I also really liked Miku Maekawa although I not sure she would sell well as a DD. Her character really grew on me in the anime, and she kind of started to shine past the halfway point. Miku's selling point as a character is her personality, but I think a DD has to have a look that grabs you and I am not sure she would if you weren't a fan.

 

CG has a lot of minor characters who would make great DD like the group that performed Tulip.

I really wanted to like Cinderella Girls, and hoped the anime would be a good starting place but it ended up not being all that interesting to me in the end as well. I still watched it to the end but IDK, it lacked the "heart" that made the other imas anime really special, though some episodes(namely, Kaede’s) were still great. I’m hoping that the stars align for the Million Live anime to finally(finally) be announced in the coming two days—I know I’m biased since I’m a ML and SideM P, but given how much love and effort was put into the few ML anime pvs released during anniversaries and the new rhythm game, I’m sure that when it finally comes it’ll be incredible.

Thanks, I had missed that there was anything else on CR when I searched before. I've watched the first 5 episodes of Idolmaster now and yeah I like that much better.

 

I'm interested in the console games but since they're only in Japanese that's out. I guess some of the mobile games are available in English but I don't like mobile games and can't really play due to poor eyesight.

I got her today. I'll post something in the arrivals thread whenever I can get her put together and take some pictures, but thought I'd mention it here just so others would have a idea of about how long shipping is taking from this event.

 

I did open her and look at everything. She's beautiful and I love her, and it was an experience for me since this is the first complete doll I've gotten.

It took about a week when I ordered her though I did it when she was first up so they were probably busier.
