aeris Posted December 17, 2011 I had a strange feeling with Kaori since a few time... From the beginning, her head makes a different noise than my other girls, something very metallic each time I move her head. As she is " older" than my others ones, I thought first it was normal, perhaps due to an older kind of body. Today I tried new clothes, and had to put her head off easier way to choose future owner for clothes ) . Her head definitvely moves much more than other ones, and even can't stay straight and fall very often. I am really afraid she is broken since the beginning. Her seller told me she was new, but as she came bald, and now with this...I can suppose she was not... It is a shame because I have paid a lot for her!!! ( he is not from this board) I can make pics, but I don't really know what kind of pics I have to take. Is there anything I can do to repair her please? Thank you so much in advance! Kumi Posted December 17, 2011 The only metallic thing around the head is the spring inside the neck piece. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1281 May be broken or fatigued, what explains the head falling. I've heard, that improper pulling out the head can be the cause of this. AFAIK it's hard to fix. You may have to buy a new neck piece. But we have here many knowledgeable friends here, maybe it's not that bad
aeris Posted December 17, 2011 Thanks Kumi I will try to have a look at this piece. I have never opened a DD body before Wow if I knew that, I would have contact the seller as soon as she was here! Now I am afraid it is too late. Hope it is nothing wrong... Home : Hitomi, Kaori, Lily, Natsuki, Kotori, Yui, Kagami, Aï, Maya, Hana
AerisAquata Posted December 17, 2011 Even if her neck piece is broken, Coolcats sells one that has a better range of mobility. It fits a bit looser than the Volks one, so there is some risk of the doll's head falling off.
Leadcrow Posted December 17, 2011 Defenetly sounds like a bad neck joint. I had the same thing a while back. I believe the earlier DDII bodies had a slightly different neck joint then more recent ones and may be more pron to this. Both Dollfie World and coolcats sell replacement neck joints and are not that difficult to replace. I have the one from Dollfie World and although this probably won't be an issue for you i can say you don't wanna use it with Peach Pai bust part as it will damage the bust due to the difference in part size. Can give you replacement directions later if you should need.
mitsuki Posted December 18, 2011 I think the older ones do have more trouble with the neck joint. A lot of Haruhis out there needed neck joint replacement. Some of my older ones (Kyoko and Yumi from 2005) needed replacements too.

Maybe this is lost in translation, but all DD when brand new come completely naked in their boxes - no wigs, no clothes. Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews! Gotta be careful using the Coolcat neck joint with the Peach Pai bust as well, it fits nicely however, the neck joint can bite holes in the bust part around the neck section. I'm currently trying to think of a way to modify a Coolcat aluminum neck joint to work on the DDS/DDIII skeleton. I'm thinking a dremel type tool with the right tool bits would work, and I do have some experience with cutting/grinding aluminum, so all I would need is the tools. 21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future.
