Cherry Blossom Doll Meet

I have a list of 'photo goals' that are kinda like a bucket list for doll photos I really want to take. I managed to get my main goal in February, which was doll photos in the snow when I went to Hokkaido, and when Spring rolled around I wanted to meet one of my other goals - cherry blossom pics. Last year I didnt take any big dolls out because I only looked at the blossoms around my town (I dont want to take them out around my town cos its kinda awkward when its a small town where most people know me), but cos this year was potentially my last spring in Japan I decided to make the most of it and organized a meetup in Maizuru park, one of the biggest parks in Fu kuoka, about three weeks ago. The full bloom only lasts less than a week so you have to act fast with these things.

 

But first of all, I did still go up the mountain near the station in my town and I snuck this little guy up with me for a stealth photo in the morning and then put him back in my bag as all the families with picnic stuff started to arrive.

Anyway, the next day was the meetup, and here's the two I bought along. Excuse Apollo, the offtopic teenie gem centaur, but he's so dang cute you can forgive him.

Rin was extremely thrilled to be surrounded by so much pink, so she was eager to get pics of her own.

She then got right up in the tree. This particular tree had a long branch that conveniently was low enough to the ground to be able to sit her on it.

I love the way the blossoms look so much.

Anyway, this was the turnout. It was pretty small, because unfortunately most of the people in our doll chat group work on weekends and have random weekdays off instead so its annoying to arrange impromptu meetups - we usually just meet up at I-Doll/etc since its big enough for people to try and take the day off for. Again excuse the off-topic dolls.

There was only one other DD as you can see - another guy was going to come originally but he wasn't able to in the end.

One of our members has an entire army of Amamusu/Mini Sweets Dolls (Obitsu11) and they're all so cute. Also it was easter that day, which I completely forgot until later in the day so I hastily bought a bunny cake in a vague attempt at making the pic more eastery.

Later on we went up a sort of mini cliff overlooking more of the trees.

It was a little windy up there and Rin's hair woudn't cooperate.

And that's all - I wish we'd been able to get more pics, but the crowds at Maizuru were pretty intense.

 

As for my other 'photo goals', theres a few - most of all I want to take Mel to the grafitti alleys in Melbourne, but who knows when I'll get the chance.

I love the photos of Rin in the blossoms. Congrats on getting one item of your items checked off.

Rin coordinates very well with the cherry blossoms. I very much like the first shot with Rin and Apollo, and the early-morning shots with the Prince. I also like how Rin is taking her own photos

 

The trees are almost surreal in how beautiful they look. I'm glad you were able to check this goal off of your list!

 

Also, that rabbit cake looks tasty.

Rin looks so sweet amongst the pink blossoms Looks like a great day even with a tiny turn out.

Your pics are so nice! Rin is beautiful among the blossoms. Great idea for a meetup, and for pictures, too!

 

Forgot to say, I LOVE your little guy! He's so unique. He makes me think of a great big Azone Kuuta, LOL!
