BeyondTime Posted May 28, 2018 I just ordered my first doll which is the Megurine Luka collaboration doll, I need tips on how to maintain her Gratz on your Luka. Normally I would suggest a body suit to protect from stains, but it sounds like her outfit comes with one. A stand is a really good idea. It makes dressing, posing, and displaying them much easier. I'd also suggest reading as much as you can on the net about caring for doll wigs. Long wigs are kind of a pain, and hers is wavy which is going to make it harder to deal with. Wet fingers are sometimes better than a comb to fix lose strands with more complex wigs. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

Monty Posted May 28, 2018 Normally I would suggest a body suit to protect from stains, but it sounds like her outfit comes with one. It doesn't. That's a dark-coloured leotard, not a bodysuit, basically made of stocking material, and its part of her outfit, not a stain prevention item. (if you look at official art of Luka you can see she has some kind of sheer material at her navel/upper arms, and making this a leotard was the easiest way for Volks to do it...I'm actually not sure if its a leotard in 'canon' or if those parts are attached to the rest of the outfit) To be honest, I was worried about it staining her. I would get one maybe if you intend to keep her in her default outfit all the time, but if you plan to dress her up a lot, it may not be necessary (unless you intend on buying many dark outfits). Stains are just a reality of dollfie dreams though, its not the end of the world when it happens and it is reversible. I would recommend a good hairbrush. You can use a (new) toothbrush, there is also an official Dollfie hair brush that has a tapered handle to move the bangs around with, but I personally recommend the Tangle Teezer. Volks sells it on their site but you can also find it elsewhere. Its actually a product made for human hair but it works on charm on long doll wigs, and Luka's wig is LONG. If you dont brush it regularly its definitely going to tangle up. To keep it in even better shape, see if you can get some wig spray. I have used many differnent brands - the stuff for humans works just as well because a synthetic wig is a synthetic wig. Search for anti-static wig-spray.... or you can buy the official volks stuff, I personally don't just because the bottle is really small. While you dont need to go as far as wearing white gloves whenever you handle her (although some people do...), make sure your hands are clean, any oils or dirt can easily get absorbed by the vinyl and cause stains. Have fun with her! Be sure to check out the many FAQ threads and care guides on this forum for a lot of other info I cant think of off the top of my head. *twitter*instagram*art*

That's a dark-coloured leotard, not a bodysuit, basically made of stocking material, and its part of her outfit, not a stain prevention item. Yeah in that case I would definitely get one. Stains are treatable, but it usually means taking her apart and then, unless you have spare parts, you don't have her to play with for awhile. I like the thick white bodysuits from Coolcats, but in Luka's case that won't look good with her dress. You may want to look at getting one of the Volks ones that match her skintone. Coolcats does have flesh toned body suits, and they have them in a variety of styles to fit a variety of outfits. They sell doll stands too, but if Volks has their own stands in stock I'd grab one of those. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin?
