Volks USA Miku Expo 2018 event

Just received an email for this, from June 29th - July 23rd there will be a "limited web event."

 

No real information yet but it states this:

 

We will be hosting a special "VOCALOID" themed web-event on the VOLKS USA Dollfie® store in honor of Miku's upcoming tour during MIKU EXPO 2018! [...] Release information for Limited Dollfie Dream® and other special items will be available soon!

At minimum I'm sure that means Miku will be sold again and some outfits. Wonder if there would be anything new?

Now I am hoping for the 2020 outfits to get a re-release. I really want the blue one for Chihaya.

I'm excited to see what they have planned for the event! I have a feeling they’ll prob have a limited number of all the dolls, maybe even Luka too up for grabs.

 

It’s probably wishful thinking but I’d like to see new outfit sets for all the Vocaloid dolls released or even teased during this event too.

It could be another chance at getting the Senbonzakura Luka set.

But I strongly doubt anything new will be shown. New vocaloid stuff is generally only shown at MagicalMirai in September and SnowMiku in February. One noteable exception was the peachpit vampire dress but that was only because it was unveiled at that peachpit event.

But I’m very excited for MM this year (although I can’t go ) I’m not expecting new dolls but I hope that means more new outfits.

That’s not to say it wouldn’t be super exciting if they did reveal new stuff at MikuExpo.

It did say "Limited Dollfie Dream and other special items will be available" so I'm guessing they might re-release miku (of course :p ) rin, and len.

 

As for the special items part it could be popular outfits from the past or new ones. I'm SERIOUSLY hoping for from Alice in musicland outfits! I would love to see white rabbit Len.

 

Also seeing it's from June 29 - July 23 it sounds like preorder items?

I know. In fact when I complained to Volks about the cart issues, they basically replied to me saying it would also be in this event. I just didn't post about it out of courtesy to Volks until they made the announcement themselves.

Believe me, it totally crossed my mind, and the temptation is very great, but sadly no new girls will be joining my family for the foreseeable future. I recently dumped three grand into my car, so my coffers of disposable income are rather empty. Sigh, this adulting thing keeps getting in the way of fun...

I'm actually quite happy to see this recurring theme of bringing the girls out again for the Miku Expo events. It gives newcomers a chance to buy a "limited" doll they may have missed at list for once...

Just received a Volks USA email about Luka for the Miku Expo event. This is pre-order from June 29 - July 23. "Early Bird" preorders will be shipped in August 2018 and the rest in December 2018.

It fits both.

so is it a lottery based thing? because ive heard you can pay full price for a doll and not even get it.

wich kinda scares me off from getting one this way. (I really want luka)

also, when the other dolls are re-released, are they able to be bought upright? like in the store and then shipped or is that also lottery? another thing is luka going to be cheaper because of the special pre-order or more expensive?

Luka is being offered through Volks USA as a pre-order for the Miku Expo event. All the other Vocaloids are click war. If you want any of the others you will probably need to be on their site the moment the event opens up, because they will probably sell out fast.

 

In a pre-order you are guaranteed to get the doll, but for this event you may have to wait until December. I don't think they have announced if you must pay in full up front for this pre-order. For pre-order dolls Volks USA usually requires a deposit, and you pay the rest when the doll is ready to ship from Japan. For this one it's possible they will ask payment in full up front, but in any case you are guaranteed to get Luka when she is ready for shipment.

 

The way they do the international lottery you pay up front, and then if your name isn't drawn a few days later they refund the payment. This was a change they made because too many people would renege on their commitment to pay after they won.

 

Through Volks Japan she was about $750.00. Volks USA may be a bit more expensive because they have extra overhead associated with bringing the doll into the US from Japan.

 

I was in the November lot through the Japan lottery so they have my money, and I will get her in November / December. Volks dolls move at the speed of a glacier on their way to your doorstep. It's just one of the things with this hobby, but Volks is very reliable, and the dolls are worth the wait.

I'll just add a couple of things:

 

For the just-ended Volks USA Luka lottery, the price was $690 so this will probably be the same.

 

I'm sure it's a standard disclaimer, but the email about this Luka preorder has, at the fine print at the bottom, this statement: "Pre-Orders are limited and may sell out." So it's not unlimited preorders available (I doubt it ever actually is), meaning it's safer to order at the beginning of the period instead of waiting until July 23rd.

Yeah definitely don't wait until the end of the period. Order her on day 1 if you can manage it.

Miku is awesome, and she's been released a lot so you may have a better chance of getting her in the clickwar.

The bad part is I'm out of town when it opens, and I won't have internet, so I'm going to miss my chance to get the extra outfit again, unless someone wants to order it for me...
