At this point I think the only thing you can do is to daily email, or snail mail, the Postmaster General about it. Heck, involve your congressman. They say the squeaky wheel gets the oil, and if you squeak high enough something should happen. If it was insured, file a claim. They may rather find it then pay out.

I have no idea how to get in touch with the PMG. Do you? I'll talk to ANYONE I think can help me out. It's just so difficult to get anything out of the USPS anymore. I don't know if it was insured or not, I'll have to ask my friend.

I'd also try at lease one snail mail letter.

As long as you don't make any threats arrest shouldn't be a problem.

Ha ha, I was kidding about the arrest part. But I do plan to bug the crap out of them until I get some type of reply.

Speaking of replies, I just heard back from my friend in Sweden and his P.O. told him that the package shows as already clearing customs so there's nothing they can do on their end. So I guess when it said "Processed through customs" it meant it DID actually go thru the NY office. Where it went after that is anyones guess. Hopefully I can get some type of resolve by getting in touch with this PMG.

As always, I'll update here if anything occurs!

UPDATE!!!!!

Taking the email that K2 provided me earlier, I sent in my problem and was awarded an actual return email! And not from a computer, a real person!

They replied to me today stating that they had been assigned this "case" and that they needed some more info from me. I replied with everything they asked for and some extra just in case. I also gave them a pic of what was supposed to be in the box in case something is found loose.

It was so great seeing an actual person reply to me and say they are going to help me out! It's taken forever and even tho I probably won't see my package, at least I know someone, somewhere is actually doing something for me.

A huge thanks to K2 for the email addy! And thanks to everyone else who has added support and helpful info here. You guys and gals rock!

UPDATE!!!!! Billy

You "talked" to a human at the USPS?

You are truly blessed!

Now we just have to keep our collective fingers crossed...

Charged with the quest of retrieving the Robe of Dollieh by the benevolent Lord Balldemort, the brave and over worked Knight of the Postmaster sallies forth, into the Realm of The Lost in Customs. Who knows what horrors are to be found in that dark and dismal land?

Stay tuned for the next chilling episode...

Well, it's done. The USPS has officially given up on me and the package.

The person who was "helping" me emailed me last week saying that they had exhausted all avenues and that there was nothing I could do. When I asked what had been done and why they couldn't find it I got no reply. I also asked about it being stolen and what could be done about that. No reply.

So now I have asked the seller to go ahead and send in for the insurance on the package. I got a letter from the USPS about this and had to sign it and send it back stating that I never received the package in question. Hopefully they give him the insurance money and I can at least get back what I paid for it.

I wanted to thank everyone who replied and had info and help for me here. I may not have gotten my package but it's nice to know people cared enough to try and help out.

I'll be filling your shoes for a bit, Billy

I checked on a recent Smart Doll shipment and found this tracking information:

October 27, 2018, 12:45 pm

Receptacle Blocked

CHICAGO, IL 60622

We attempted to deliver your item at 12:45 pm on October 27, 2018 in CHICAGO, IL 60622. Delivery of the item could not be completed because the mail receptacle was blocked.

There is so much wrong with this message. The zip code is wrong. The "receptacle" was blocked by a door? And I was home all day yet no attempt was made to "ring the bell".

Fortunately it's not a doll, just accessories. This is the 4th EMS from Japan the USPS failed to deliver for me this year.

So the delivery adventures continue.

I think ones like that are just lazy workers. I had ordered a transformer for my trains a few years ago and knew I'd be out of town when it came, so I had it shipped to my mom's. My mom is a stay at home grandma that watching grand kids all day long. When I got back in town I found out she never got the package. I checked tracking and it said no one was home, which I knew full well was BS. The PO still had it so I went down to get it. I'm betting the postman saw the size of the box and just didn't want to deal with it so he said on one was home. Probably didn't even get on his truck.

I'm incline to agree.

Last February I missed an EMS from Japan by an hour and immediately tried to set up a redelivery, but I wasn't able to. The redelivery page said the parcel had already been sent back to the shipper. No second attempt, no final notice. Sent back withing an hour? After a month and a ton of emails and calls they found the parcel on a shelf in their holding area.

Yeah, I gotta believe lazy.

This is where my parcels are sorted and sent from. Not too many glowing reviews. I had to pick up a couple of parcels there before they shortened their hours. The reviews are all true.

Dang dude, that sucks to hear. It boggles my mind as to how slack and lazy people are or can be when it comes to delivering the mail. I've had the same thing happen to me with jerks not wanting to get out of the car/truck.

I was home all day on a Friday and knew a big Volks package was coming. Tracking said it was out for delivery. I sat in the living room with window blinds open ALL DAY. I finally see the mailman pull up to my mailbox and then they sit there for a second. They pull forward to the next mailbox, put stuff in there and then take off. I'm like WTF.

I ran outside and caught him 3 houses down. I showed him the tracking info on the phone and he said he didn't have that package. He was driving a van with windows all along the sides and I saw a huge box in the back with one of the bright orange FRAGILE stickers on it that Volks always uses. I said there's my box right there! He looks back and said it wasn't mine. Then I got pissed. I demanded he show me the address on the box and he took off.

I immediately ran back to my house and then drove to the post office with a photo of his van, the license plate and a description of him. I told the manager about it and he said that guy has been caught not delivering boxes before. I'm like WHAT??? WHY DOES HE STILL WORK HERE???

Anyways we waited an hour for the guy to come back to the P.O. where the manager met him outside at his truck and I waited in his office. He came in with my package, apologized to me and told me that guy was fired.

Mess with MY doll stuff will ya?!?!?!??

Anyway, I hope you get your package soon my friend!

Unbelievable. Guys like that can get jobs, but people like me can't? sigh

So far the postmen here have been pretty cool. I know international packages usually come either from a different mailman that gets sent out just to deliver them, or our regular postman goes and delivers them first then goes back and does standard mail. I think it was with Miku I saw she was out for delivery, which usually meant the afternoon, so we figured it was safe to go shopping. When we came back there was a missed delivery sticker. Then that afternoon I head our mail box and ran out and caught the mailman and asked if he had tried to deliver a package that morning. He said he did and was willing to come back after he finished the street (He was walking for the standard mail.). Sure enough, 10 min later he rang our bell and I got my girl.

This is really unbelievable!!

Thanksfully you guys managed to end up finding and getting your packages, but it sounds like an adventure!!

As for me, I ended up becoming friend with most of the mailmen (I receive a shitload of boxes every week, and we often happen to chat a bit!), so everytime there is an issue I know I got my back covered.

But hearing about this literall horror stories makes me so worried!!
