cfx Posted June 12, 2018 I think these were shown previously at Wonder Festival but they're being released now: http://www.goodsmile.info/en/nendoroiddoll?utm_source=GSCMM001&utm_medium=MM2018-06-12&utm_campaign=20180612_MM2018-06-12_7329 http://www.goodsmile.info/en/products/category/nendoroiddoll I would guess this would be appealing to the market that has been putting nendo heads on Obitsu and other small bodies? rukitron Posted June 12, 2018 Looks like they're trying to emulate cu-poche. The inner bodies aren't very cute looking and they would need to have a nice clothing selection.
growcian Posted June 13, 2018 At least one of the benefits is, the Nendo doll body will work out of the box with any Nendo head without modification. (If you use an Obitsu 11 body, while not difficult, some modification to the body is required to make it work with a Nendo head.)
cfx Posted June 13, 2018 Looks like they're trying to emulate cu-poche. The inner bodies aren't very cute looking and they would need to have a nice clothing selection. I'm sure that's part of what they were going for. I like the proportions a little better than the Cu-poche (who have huge hands and feet). Part of what is weird about this initial announcement is GSC shows no clothing at all. The two full dolls of course come with outfits, but the bare bodies, what am I supposed to clothe them with? If they want to get a part of the Obitsu 11 market, I think they at least need a sort of roadmap promising various clothing. Of if something else fits them like the Obitsu clothing, they need to make that clear. At least one of the benefits is, the Nendo doll body will work out of the box with any Nendo head without modification. (If you use an Obitsu 11 body, while not difficult, some modification to the body is required to make it work with a Nendo head.) Yeah that. I like stuff that fits and works together like it was made to do so. Little dolls like this aren't really my thing but if they were I'd like to use these bodies over an Obitsu 11 just knowing they are completely compatible without modification. But OTOH without any selection of clothing or even any promised selection, why would I choose these?

Astraea Posted June 15, 2018 I'm a little "hmm" on them. The massive gapping in the torso and hips is a little offputting, but I guess it increases the range of those joints. Except then the knees and elbows are simple hinge joints? Which are really limited. I'm gonna guess that Obitsu 11 is still a better poser in that regard. It's good that people will have more options though since I've read that the modifications to put a Nendo head on an Obitsu 11 are a bit of a pain, and if they bring out a clothing line I'm totally interested in that for other stuff in this size range. Yeah, that torso gap is a bit weird but besides that, I think this line has potential. I'm curious to see which clothing options they'll offer. cfx Posted July 29, 2018 Only shown as placards for now, but at Wonder Festival GSC announced four of these, Saber, Jeanne d'Arc, and two Touken Ranbu guys: http://whl4u.jp/wh28/gallery/en/#/images/149 http://whl4u.jp/wh28/gallery/en/#/images/148 I'm curious what pricing will be like. In my view, regular Nendoroids are far too expensive now.
Orao_22 Posted August 21, 2018 Eh, how could I miss that? Nendoroid dolls, that are articulated, and that can stand by themselves without sacrificing a goat to Satan? It's an absolute must have! Are they planning to re-release some characters with that body, or do you just have to buy the regular nendoroid *coughtgetthechinesebootlegcough* and then the articulated body, and "mate" the two? Anyways, I'll have to get back to sewing anyways, to see if I can do something cool, even if it's just some simple poncho or skirt. Oh, and I should definitely see if someone manufactures and sells downscaled camouflage fabric (because the shapes on regular camouflage, except for some patterns such as the modern Russian one, would be as tall as the dolls themselves and it would look ridiculous)
cfx Posted August 21, 2018 I think they're doing both. My post above yours is about four character dolls they announced and at least one (Saber) already exists in multiple forms as a nendo, and they'll sell the bodies separately so you can turn any nendo into a doll. They haven't really announced plans for the line that I'm aware of, like my earlier comments about are they making clothes etc.
cfx Posted November 25, 2018 AK Garden, some kind of doll-focused event, happened in Japan, and GSC showed some more Nendoroid Dolls there: http://figsoku.net/blog-entry-134623.html They were also at their own figure event this weekend, at which the Nendo Doll Jeanne D'Arc was shown as well as the ones above; look a little past halfway down the page here: https://news.amiami.jp/topics/2018/11/145572.html
CrazyDollPerson Posted December 14, 2018 I just got my first Nendoroid doll Emily. She is cute, but not sure how I feel about her. I preordered her and Alice. I don't know if I would buy more. I have Cu-Poche and thought I would like these better but the thing I like most is that all those extra face plates can be used on them...but I think I still prefer the Cu-Poche body. I will have to undress both and do like a side by side comparison of them to know for sure but I haven't had time. The one thing that seems off for me is the super tiny hands, either that the Cu-Poche hands are just so big I am used to that? Has anyone else gotten one of these yet? What is your opinion on them if you did? Especially if you have Cu-Poche...which do you prefer, and why?
UnderOrange Posted December 15, 2018 I have an Emily, too! I like her a lot but I think I prefer larger dolls too much. She's just... so very tiny. I might bring her to work to cheer up my desk. I've never had a Cu-Poche, so I can't compare.

UnderOrange Posted December 15, 2018 Aah, that is a big difference. Tbh the tiny hands don't bother me, I think they just remind me of that chibi style. I've seen drawings that didn't have any hands at all, lol. The bigger hands look cute too though, so I guess I just don't have a strong preference.
cfx Posted February 11, 2019 GSC showed these at Wonder Festival; I think at least some was new: https://hobby.dengeki.com/event/707683/
CrazyDollPerson Posted February 14, 2019 GSC showed these at Wonder Festival; I think at least some was new:https://hobby.dengeki.com/event/707683/ Oh boy those are cute...I was not super keen on Emily, and I have Alice coming which if I had Emily before I ordered Alice I wouldn't have. But maybe my mind on the dolls will change...but this new one looks really cute!
Sinisterrainbow Posted February 24, 2019 These Cu Poche are so cute! I guess they are like Nendoroids just with articulation, right!? I might buy one this year! Can`t decide which one
CrazyDollPerson Posted February 25, 2019 These Cu Poche are so cute! I guess they are like Nendoroids just with articulation, right!?I might buy one this year! Can`t decide which one Yes pretty much. They are taller than a nendoroid, but use almost all the nendoroid face plates which is nice. I am not completely sold on them yet though. I sold my Emily, but have the Alice preorder coming whenever she releases. Maybe I will like her more, I don't know.
Singer Yuna Posted March 19, 2019 I had Alice Nendoroid doll ordered and she was delayed till April 🤷♀️
Azael Posted April 5, 2019 I've been contemplating getting my Mei a body as the original nendoroids are adorable but a bit too compact for my taste (her head is very heavy compared to the body). It may not resolve that issue, but I also like the idea of putting her in some casual clothes like a pj set! Then I took a look at the website...and Alice is totally going on my wish list now. 20blackbags Posted April 14, 2019 I just have a Yugioh nendoroid. I’m hoping they make more of the other characters from the first series. I would love it if they made a Joey nendoroid, but I thing he’s not popular enough for them to consider it.
Eiko82 Posted May 8, 2019 I'm seriously getting my Nendoroid Yune a Nendoroid Doll body. I dropped her once and her foot got chipped The only thing I can't figure is if I should buy the Peach or Cream body. What do you think? This is my Yune Living at my place: Rise (DD Rise Kujikawa), Chie (Smart Doll Mirai) and Aisha (Smart Doll Kurenai)
cfx Posted May 8, 2019 I'm basically guessing here, but I think the peach because it was the original release and still in the URL it's just a body without a specified color. The blog page that talks about the original doll release says that body matches the color of those dolls. I'm not that familiar with the details of the normal nendos, but I've always assumed they're all the same color since they want you to be able to swap parts between different ones. That said, I'm making the assumption the cream is to have a different skin tone for dolls, with the idea of painting the blank heads rather than using regular nendo parts. It'd be nice if the GSC site actually explained any of this though. The closest we get to that is this about page: https://www.goodsmile.info/en/nendoroiddoll Only the one color for the girl existed at the time, and since it talks about swapping the heads presumably it's the matching color. Maybe someone has a better answer.
