Congratulations!

Resorted to getting a doll version of Binghe to go with my regular nendo Shen Qingqiu and (fanmade) Liu Qingge, but I don't like how they gave him the normal boy body and not the super muscle man one, so I threw him in a temp outfit until his new body arrives.

This is an old post but I just wanted to reply that I've seen some Etsy sellers pop up recently that make custom heads out of clay that are compatible with OB11 bodies, so you may be able to get a custom head done for a FF character instead of having to hunt down nendoroid parts. I've ordered one of my FF14 OC and it's shipped out already from China and I plan to make a review once it arrives.

I actually have some of those custom clay heads! I'm very pleased with the ones I got, which use official blank headplates and then air dry clay for the hairplate.

Nendoroid dolls have some new faceplate options that are being released, with inset eyes... they're cute, although I think it might be getting a little too similar to my 1/6 obitsu/azone dolls to the point that I'd rather stick with the decal heads for more doll variety, lol. The new Hatsune Miku nendoroid doll is really cute, though I hope we had some more fashion outfits soon... a lot of them have been very... limiting, I guess? Or maybe they just haven't been my thing. ^^;

I absolutely adore both these series. So they're all a must-have for me. I'm very excited that Yor is getting two Nendoroid Dolls, one with her casual outfit and a Thorn Princess one.

@Eiko82, I’m right there with you with the wallet ruination. Did you see the Chobits Chii? She’s amaaaazing~ I preordered her immediately but I wish I could afford two to make them Elda and Freya.

@Eiko82 you are SO right! I couldn’t resist the cute and had to preorder Marin too. Too many waifus, too many wallet dust bunnies.

Slightly off topic, but hoping to make laughs.  I once took a photo of a friend's boyfriend and wrote on it, "(friend's) waifu is better than yours."  She (and he) about laughed themselves silly.

Had no idea something like this existed, how much is the body ? Do you just pop your nendoroid head in ?

i've found them on EBAY from $20/$30ea. depending on sellers and availability of the moment.

 

Just look for "YMY Body" they are available in a variety of Skintones, in M and F body types,

and in "Normal" and "Lengthened" versions. My girls all have the Lengthened (longer legs) type.

 

Most Nendo/Nendo Doll heads i've tried so far will slot right onto the YMY's existing neck peg.

some of them benefit from a single peg-wrap in PVC tape (3M Scotch, White 35) however,

and one or two of them basically required the peg-wrap in order to slot securely in place at all...

If you’re still in Osaka, you can pick them up in person at Dolly Lab. or order them from MR.S Lab. It doesn’t show up on Google Maps, but you can find the address for the store on the website.

If it's OK to talk about nendoroid heads on non nendoroid doll specific bodies here, I currently have 3 nendoroids I'm in the process of dollifying with ob11 bodies (I prefer their aesthetic and posability, even if they are kind of "old school" considering that now there's a variety of other bodies out there like ymy, piccodo etc) and I would love to share them! I also have two books on sewing patterns for ob11 bodies, but they won't fit the nendoroid dolls since the body sizes aren't the same as the ob11s... I didn't see a recent thread about obitsuroids specifically so if someone wants to give the green light to talk about them here please let me know, otherwise I'll consider making a separate thread at some point.

I will say, I've been hearing negative things about the official clothing quality for nendoroid dolls, including the fact that a bunch of recent ones have painted on underclothes/bodysuits (Luka, I'm looking at you) that make it more difficult to use different outfits for them. Honestly, the quality issues are the second reason I'm not buying sleepy Miku up there, even if I had the funds... I just don't want to be disappointed since what I've seen about their recent releases in the nendoroid Discord I'm in is just... bad :< I would love to be pleasantly surprised, but given that I mainly have sewing stuff for the ob11 size anyway, I think I'm just going to focus on converting nendoroids and making customs rather than official doll releases for the moment 😔

Fr, idk what happened with this particular doll but have you seen the weird slots on her hair piece when the glasses are taken off? 

It's quite an obvious "issue" and not something I would expect from GSC, especially at that price too...
