baldylox Posted June 25, 2018 Hey Torino can you explain a bit more about the F3 frames? What are all those prices listed just below them? What does it say about the different body sizes? And why is the MDD "name" in there along with the others under the F3 frame? I have a new Saber on pre-order so I'll be getting the new frame with her. But I'm very interested to see what these are all about so any info on them would be great. Thanks in advance! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. Monty Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Hey Torino can you explain a bit more about the F3 frames? What are all those prices listed just below them? What does it say about the different body sizes? But I'm very interested to see what these are all about so any info on them would be great. Thanks in advance! Billy Woops, I should have explained that. I meant to and then forgot. The f3 frames I assume cost more so those are the new prices for DreamChoice dolls (without tax). MDD is the only one without the new frame so it’s just pointing that out. It’s also why the MDD price is the only one unchanged. From asianeds How to DreamChoice thread (which I really think should be stickied) in the QandA board, the old prices: MDD - 53,000JPY DD/DDS - 56,000JPY DDDy - 58,000JPY New (also without tax) MDD 53000 (no change) DD/DDS 59800 DDdy 61800 DDP 57800 I’ve been busy but I’ll stick all these new updates in the dream choice news thread too. It only says the f3 is coming to DreamChoice and not D’Coord, and I’m not sure when it’ll be available standard or how much it’ll cost on its own. BeyondTime Posted June 26, 2018 EDIT: Just noticed it says she'll be offered at both Doll Point AND the website. So no she's not limited to DDFesta, but this is a weirdly impromptu lottery all the same. This was a relief. I was worried she'd only be available at a Japan only special event. Not like I have a real chance in the lottery, but at least a small chance is better than no chance at all. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
Monty Posted June 26, 2018 Some other stuff I forgot: Matoi and Kaede will also be shown at DD Festa on July 14th, which means you’ll probably see non Volks photos from them (albeit with DollPoints less than ideal lighting...). This is nice because there was no opportunity for seeing/taking photos of Luka until the actual day of Dolpa. Hopefully some decent photos are possible at DDFesta so anyone going to Dolpa has more time to make up their mind about trying for them and anyone looking to get them online gets even longer to mull it over. *twitter*instagram*art*
Poofiemus Posted June 26, 2018 I wasn't too excited for Kaede or Matoi, but DD16? Veeery curious to see owner pics of her, especially blank. I don't know if she's right for my till-now-un-shellable OC, but she's got some solid potential that I think is gonna be worth investigating. Also the red Tenshi no Koromo outfits are super cute, and the Designer's Collection stuff is slaying my willpower as usual. That DDFes lotto is hella strange. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
Monty Posted June 26, 2018 http://www.volks.co.jp/dress/1807/?version=en July stuff is up with more pics. Edit: I noticed the dresses that Karin, Liliru and Towa are wearing aren’t there so I looked back to see what was up with that. They’re being sold in the Akiba store for DDFesta, and then again at Dolpa and after event. They’re also going to be standard Tenshi no Koromo clothing items so won’t sell out. Sorry for all the corrections/edits ._. I didn’t have a lot of time to make the post and barely skimmed a lot of the info. Edit 2: and you can see those dresses here, plus the info about Yuriko Nanao. http://www.volks.co.jp/ddfes/2018/item_en/ *twitter*instagram*art*
Gabriel Posted June 27, 2018 The the brown heeled sandals mislabeled? In Volks News they're SB-SD16G-077 and are standard DD size. On the Volks Jp webstore they're YOSD sized and coded as SB-YOSD-071 which is in Volks News for the black boots. And SB-SD16G-077 has a picture of the white bow kitten heels, which in Volks news are labeled SB-SD-218. So which is which? Which one has the correct item numbers? I'm inclined to believe Volks News has the correct item numbers, because the brown sandals are shown on a DD. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time a different sized variant was used in the magazine.
cfx Posted June 27, 2018 The collection page Torino linked (http://www.volks.co.jp/dress/1807/?version=en) has the numbers that match Volks News. And it's very unlikely the white bow pumps would have a SD16G number as those are used just for the higher-heeled shoes for high heel SD feet as far as I have ever seen. I also doubt a YOSD shoe would have such a tall heel, and the boots clearly look small. Still, hopefully they'll update the store listings before the items actually go on sale so we can be certain because even if they are wrong who knows if it's the number listing or the picture that is correct. shikaree Posted June 27, 2018 There are three shoes in the collection. I think it's pretty apparent they just accidentally rotated the names rotated the image sets in the web store. Go by price.
sinclair Posted July 1, 2018 They’re also going to be standard Tenshi no Koromo clothing items so won’t sell out. Which are those? The Gingham ones or the white plus sweater ones?
cfx Posted July 1, 2018 It's the white plus sweater ones, see this page: http://www.volks.co.jp/ddfes/2018/item_en/ As you may know, Tenshi-no-Koromo has been the line that covers many of the DD-specific outfits (i.e. not for SDs generally) and maybe a year or so ago(?) they added "Tenshi-no-Koromo Standard" which are basic outfits that will always be available, the Alice Maids I believe are in that and I know the red hoodie outfit with the "Dream Girl" t-shirt is. The gingham stuff is regular Tenshi-no-Koromo and will be limited as usual.
sinclair Posted July 2, 2018 Thank you. I wondered of that's what the "standard" meant, but wasn't sure. But now that I know, I know I can pass on them for now to get the stuff that is limited. I'm not happy that his edition had so much stuff that I want, my wallet can't handle it as I just invested a lot in my other main hobby, and my car just broke again and needs repairs. BeyondTime Posted July 2, 2018 the red hoodie outfit with the "Dream Girl" t-shirt is. That t-shirt is awesome. I never put the hoodie on them, but zero regrets on getting the outfit for the shirt. My Asuna V1 is wearing it now, and it suits her. XD I think the hoodie is kind of oversized to be honest. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? cfx Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) I was wrong in that the standard line has actually existed much longer. I've been going through the Dolpa After Event pages just trying to see all the outfits and I found reference to it some years ago. Anyway, on the Volks USA site they barely distinguish between the regular Tenshi no Koromo and Standard, with some of the outfits not even mentioning it. On the Japan site it's not a category like the other clothing lines, but it is a searchable keyword phrase. So here's what the standard line currently consists of: https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0030&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&sp16=m7 Of course, I'm not sure why a few of the items are listed as "Sold Out" and not "Will Be Restocked" the red hoodie outfit with the "Dream Girl" t-shirt is. That t-shirt is awesome. I never put the hoodie on them, but zero regrets on getting the outfit for the shirt. My Asuna V1 is wearing it now, and it suits her. XD I think the hoodie is kind of oversized to be honest. I've been wanting to buy that set just for that t-shirt. The hoodie scares me. I don't think it's that interesting, and it's bright red which just sort of screams "Yes, I will stain your doll!" to me. I've come to the conclusion that some outfits are nice enough that they're worth the stain risk. That hoodie isn't one of them. Slightly OT: Did you see the one-off(?) variant of that t-shirt? I don't remember exactly what it was or where I saw it now, but it was one of those Volks one-off or lottery outfits. It included a variation of that t-shirt, same "Dream Girl" on it and it had a ruffle sewn onto the bottom, like the original Smart Doll t-shirts had. It probably had a different color than the pink trim (and maybe the print was a different color) but I can't remember that much detail now. I think the outfit was a punk girl or rocker type outfit, but I might be completely wrong on that. I had forgotten about this completely until now. cfx Posted July 2, 2018 That's the one. Haha, I even posted about that outfit here before. My memory sucks. Volks should make that shirt in multiple color schemes. Every Dollfie should get to have her own Dream Girl shirt.
BeyondTime Posted July 2, 2018 I hadn’t seen the one off until now. I really like ordinary clothing in DD sizes, but what I really like about that shirt is that it’s a bit of a double entendre. They are Dollfie Dreams, and then on certain characters it speaks to something about that character. Like when I put it on Makoto it sort of speaks to her wanting to be accepted as a girl, and since it’s fairly form fitting even on DDS it shows her curves calling attention to the fact that she is a girl. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
cfx Posted July 3, 2018 Good point. There's another outfit I want now for just the top it comes with. There's a red striped camisole top that says "Center of the WORLD" on it, that I've previously seen in some of foo's pictures like this one of Yaya: I never knew where that came from until now. I've been trying to find all the Volks website pages that cover After Events, DD Gatherings, DD Fes, and whatever else that show outfits, so I just discovered that top is part of Natsuki's Pajama set which you can see here: http://www.volks.co.jp/jp/hag/item_natsuki_dress07.html/ I'm pretty sure I'd never use the rest of the outfit but I love that top. On-topic, when can we expect the online version of VN79? In another week or so?
Monty Posted July 3, 2018 The last two have taken two weeks exactly so yeah, expect it July 9th. *twitter*instagram*art*

cfx Posted July 9, 2018 Magazine is online now: https://volks.meclib.jp/DM79/book/index.html#target/page_no=1 Seeing things more clearly, Kaede looks better. I still think Volks didn't do as good a job making her look like the character as they've generally done with Idolmaster, and it's just my personal taste, but I don't like the slightly-open mouth sculpt. It's why I dislike Luka and I don't like it here either. I like Matoi a lot, and would consider getting her but I just want the head and body and since she's an expensive doll that probably won't work out. No outfits for me this time, but I want those black SD16 pumps.
BeyondTime Posted July 9, 2018 Interestingly the SD16 outfit on Page 77 looks like parts of it are from two different Ami Ayase releases. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? It’s bulky, but I think it’s cute. The large bust counterpart, the black bunny-eared hood, I wanted for Luka. But it looks like a stain machine.
cfx Posted July 9, 2018 Interestingly the SD16 outfit on Page 77 looks like parts of it are from two different Ami Ayase releases. That could be. I've been trying to research Volks outfits through the pages that are still up for Dolpa After Events and other related things, and I know I found at least one DD outfit that was like that. After research, it appears that Volks very seldom rereleases outfits exactly the same as before (the results from the voting events being an exception) but they often change something or another. That's the more common behavior, but I know I saw at least once where a "new" outfit was really parts of various previous existing outfits. [Edit: Found one of them. The "Random Lace Skirt Set" (http://www.volks.co.jp/htd_osaka8/sumika_lpb/) contains a camisole that appears to be identical to the one in the much older "Punkish Border Set" (http://www.volks.co.jp/jp/dolpa26/sumika2.html/) though I don't know if any of the other parts of the newer set come from something else.] I'm also now curious if they did or didn't change anything with some of the voting results rereleases. Lady Wizard and Lady Archer (but not Lady Thief for some reason) were rereleased in a previous event. First release: http://www.volks.co.jp/htd_nagoya5/sumika3.html/ Second release: http://www.volks.co.jp/htd_kyoto11/sumika_dc/ Notice that DDdy was removed from the compatibility list. Packaging was changed to reflect that (with the new photographs) and the barcode numbers are different. I have the newer versions of Lady Archer and Lady Wizard and the (old) Lady Thief on the way but I don't expect to be able to tell anything by comparing that way. Maybe Volks changed them or maybe they just decided they didn't actually fit DDdy to a standard they want to recommend. I don't have and am not planning on having a DDdy so I can't try the fit there. The hoodie scares me. I don't think it's that interesting, and it's bright red which just sort of screams "Yes, I will stain your doll!" to me. I've come to the conclusion that some outfits are nice enough that they're worth the stain risk. That hoodie isn't one of them. Actually I love the hoodie, and my girls have wore it a lot. I did wash it before they wore it, and it has yet to stain that I have noticed. Good to know. With Volks when it's bright red or black I just tend to assume it stains unless someone has experience otherwise. As such, I've come to asking this question before buying "Do I like this outfit enough that wearing it is worth the effort of removing stains later?" and for most casual clothing that answer is no as it was here.
