No luck with the shoes for me.

 

I saved links to the shoes and the hat so I could pull the pages up quickly. I know from trying before that doing tabs messes up on the Volks site. I checked a few minutes early and you still couldn't place anything in the cart. Right at 9 I decided to go for the hat first which was the wrong choice. The site was very slow for me and it took a long time to put the hat in the cart. This was at most 5 minutes after it started; I don't think it was even that long. Once done I clicked my link for the shoes and they were already sold out. And looking over the items they were the only thing gone.

 

The hat is still available as of now so if I had done the shoes first perhaps I'd have gotten them.

 

I ordered the SB-SD16G-070 shoes that were still available. I'd not ordered them before because I wish they were white instead of cream/beige/whatever but since choices are so limited I think I can use them anyway.

 

Maybe they will actually restock the shoes as they did with the sandals last time, and they should be on the USA lottery whenever that is.

I went shoes, hat, dress. In my experience nice looking SD and SD16 shoes sell out very fast. MSD stuff tends to linger a bit.

 

The SD16 outfit I grabbed is just a reskin of Ami Ayase's default outfit, so I was ok if I missed that or got it in the USA lottery. I have never lost an SD16 outfit in the USA lottery. I think they just aren't as big a deal here as the DD stuff. Plus a lot of the western SD people seem more into boy dolls. I don't see near as many girl doll pictures posted on DoA.

I figured both the hat and shoes would go fast and I wanted the hat more. My only experience in buying a hat before was I wanted the Santa hat and it was sold out on the international store before I could order, though I think I missed the starting time because I was confused about when it started. I also remember that mad hatter hat sold out very quickly but was also restocked.

 

I got the Santa hat on the USA lottery, and it was eventually restocked on the Japan store and I think is still there now last I noticed.

 

I noticed the MSD version of those shoes lasted longer than the SD size. I considered ordering the MSD but since I still don't know if I'll end up with a DDP or not I didn't. I don't need any enablers for getting Yayoi.

Managed to make it through checkout with the stuff from both events. The site was really unresponsive in the 12:30 event. I suspect Kaede's outfit and the luggage sets were very popular items.

 

All I wanted from the second event, was the Dream Fitter stick and the DDP bodysuit. I really hope the stick thing works. If that plus the Dream Fitter makes it easy to manipulate the eyes it's going to make photography more interesting, plus it will mean I don't have to take the head caps off the DDII's I have to move their eyes around.

 

The drawback to Dream Fitter is that the eyes don't stay in place, but again if they are easy to fix then it makes it a more viable product.

 

I'll keep checking the site every so often and if I see the shoes in stock I will say something.

Is anyone else having problems checking out? The actual site loads fine for me and 3 times now i have made it all the way to inputting my visa details and pressing confirm, and then it gives me a generic site cant be found page. This is my first time having to use the online site... if it was just server load I'd expect the actual site to be unresponsive too though.

I didn't have a problem earlier.

 

The credit card processing seems to be through another site. For sure with Visa and MC it transfers to an appropriate site to do the Verified by Visa/Mastercard SecureCode check (whether your card supports that or not) so maybe that is it. Different cards go to different sites for that; Capital One goes to cardinalcommerce, most others got to arcot systems I think.

 

The SB-SD-219 shoes are back so while I dislike paying another shipping fee I suppose I should order. I got them in my cart anyway.

I'd grab them if you really want them. DD / SD16 sized shoes are the one thing I haven't had a lot of luck at through the USA Lottery.

Yup, I keep getting a failed error when I try to pay. I've used this CC with no issue before... I think it's whatever site they use for the verification that is failing. I called my CC and they say they don't even have any payment requests. When I emailed volks they say their site is fine and to contact my CC company.

That must be it. My sister used her visa for me and it went through without a hitch. I'll poke around my online banking settings later and see if i need to do anything there, otherwise I'll ask my bank. (also thankyou yLLiS for letting me know I wasnt the only one)

I was pleased I got the stuff I wanted (pink/white stripe shirt and skirt set, white knight mini set) but ive just had the rude awakening of the current jpy/aud exchange rate. Oof indeed. ._.

Yeah after they eliminated paypal I tested the card I use for large purchases through their website, and I was lucky it worked on their verification step. The big plus of paypal to me was it cirbleepvents those verification steps, and also prevented the inevitable call from the card company asking if you really just used it in Japan.

Except for Kaede's 2nd outfit, everything is still showing as in stock as of now. Those red shoes seem to come and go but both are there right now. I finally decided against getting them as I don't think they really go with the type of outfits I buy. The hat and those suitcases were gone earlier but are back now as well.

Slightly OT but don't want to start the new topic until there's something to discuss: When is Volks News 80 available? I went back and checked and last year Volks twitter revealed Jeanne and Saber around September 7th, and Torino had VN75 scans up on the 11th.

 

I just want to know what the preorder dolls will be already.

@cfx: here’s the mystery. Volks News 80 is coming out *tomorrow*. Usually volks will tease the new dolls the Friday before, whether they’re SDs or DDs. And in case of preorder dolls for the past two years we’ve had the countdowns. Nothing at all this time. We’re completely in the dark about who on earth is in volks news tomorrow. There’s never been an issue with no dolls at all (SD or DD) right...?And if it doesn’t leak I will be bugging the heck out of my Japanese friends for info.

 

DDGathering is on again in October and the issue will have info about it so I’m wondering if there is a possibility that they are doing another release like Yuriko, and not showing the doll until then. But I keep being wrong with my Volks predictions lately and that also seems weird because Yuriki also had Kaede and Matoi to compete for volks news space with.

 

It’s true that Volks have been preoccupied with not only the after event but the recent typhoon damaged Tenshi no Sato a little, and then shortly after the earthquake and blackout in Hokkaido closed the Sapporo store for a while, which there was a lot of official twitter news about. I don’t know if that’s why there were no teasers or what is going on, but waiting for leaks tomorrow (or my friend to get back from work...) is gonna be agony lol.

The lack of a countdown has me a bit worried.

 

The annual pre-order project is different than the limited pre-orders they have been doing this year, so these limited pre-orders aren't exactly a replacement for it.

 

The change does make me wonder if they have repurposed some of their production, but at the same time this seems unlikely. They are still working on the Saberface pre-orders on top of all the Luka, Kaede, and Matoi orders. I think all of them are due out Fall to Winter like the Saberfaces. It seems more likely that they added production to handle the new way the dolls are being sold in the after-events. On top of that they seem to be making a lot more of each doll for the events. I think all that adds up to a substantial production line boost. In some ways this increase may be necessary to compete with Danny's new "mass-produced" doll bodies.

 

Still, knowing that Volks news 80 is out tomorrow with no countdown is making me a bit nervous.

It does seem like Volks has increased capacity. I was also thinking yesterday that perhaps the only reason the Matoi dolls are all preorder instead of some already made + preorder like Kaede is just that they didn't have the time or resources to start making her already yet, as opposed to really a different style of selling compared to Kaede.

The next day or so is going to be a long wait.

I did note that she is listed as Winter, which could mean anytime between late December and late March. I'm guessing it will be January to February; unless of course they have given something more specific.

 

Jeanne could be Winter depending on how production is going, but as long as she ships before Dec 21 she's Fall.

 

Still given how complex Matoi is, it's interesting that they can produce her in the needed quantities that quickly.

I wanted to, but haven't. So I'd say no don't get it so I have better chances of getting one once I have a job again.

I also got the eye mover stick to see if it would work well with the simple eye moving kit I bought from I-Doll back in July because I couldnt quite get it to work properly. It works really well! I assume it works just as well with the dream fitter its intended to be used with. The problem I had trying to move Mel's eyes with the kit I bought is that the slightest bit of too much pressure popped his eyes back into his head, but with this they move more easily.

 

For anyone wondering about the suitcase, I saw that archangeli included it in a loot video,

It looks pretty cool - the wheels rotate and turn.

The pictures do make it look nice. I had skipped it because the skirt was plain, no pleats etc. and more that it was yet another very high-waisted one, a style I mostly don't care for because of how it makes the body look.

Ahhh, why does the MSD White Knight set have to come with long pants instead of shorts/bloomers like the SDB set? I'd really like a "princely" outfit for my Azone Saber, but the pants would be way too short on her. Which is probably why it's not listed as fitting DDP.
