A New Family Member Arrives

It would seem for the past few months, my eldest, Yukino, has had a pen pal overseas. And now, apparently from what I've gathered from the story so far, she's in big trouble and has had to flee her country. She's been lost in America for a while, with Assassins on her tail, but apparently she's been able to shake them off for now. It's been during this time that she was able to reach out to Yukino again, so you can imagine my surprise when my eldest shows up in my room that I'm getting back to normal with a surprise...

 

Y - "Um Papa? Could I speak to you for a moment please?"

Me - "Sure Yukino, what is it?"

Y-"Um....."

Y - "Well you know my friend, Claire that I've been keeping in touch with?"

Me - "Ah yes! Your pen pal overseas right?"

Y - "Yes! Well er um...I have something to ask you."

Me - "Oh? And what might that be?"

Y - "I've um actually found her here; she's in the US as we speak and she was in desperate need of shelter, so I um.....hope you don't mind, but I...um...gave her our address..."

Me - "What?!"

Y - "Um yes, she's been in the other room relaxing from her ordeal."

Me - "You mean she's here? Right now?"

Y - "Yes, as a matter of fact I've brought her with me to meet you if you don't mind papa..."

Me - "Oh alright bring her in..." (Why do I get the feeling I'm going to regret this somehow?)

Y - "Okay Claire, it's okay come on in."

Y - "Papa? This is Claire, my friend from overseas."

C - …………

Y - "You'll have to excuse her, she's a bit shy."

Y - "Please, go easy on her papa, she's had a rough time."

Me - "Hello Claire, it's finally nice to meet you."

C - "H-hello s-sir, I thank you for your hospitality; your daughters have been very welcome."

Me - "I trust Yukino has showed you around and has told you the rules here?"

C - "Oh yes Master Timothy! If you would please, I promise you that I will work hard if necesarry to earn my keep around here."

Me - "Oh nononono there's no need to do that, just make yourself at home and enjoy your visit here."

C - "Oh thank you Master Timothy! You are too kind!"

Me - "It's okay, Yukino trusts you and you seem like a nice person, so enjoy your visit here."

C - "Oh Yukino, you were right! Your father is such a sweet man! but but...(starts to cry) But I don't like keeping things from him, Sooner or later I'm going to have to tell your father why I'm here and who's after me."

Y - "Now now, it's okay, don't worry. When the time is right we'll tell him why you're here, I promise."

C - (Dries her eyes) "Alright then, if you're certain, we'll do it your way for now."

Y - "See? I told you there wouldn't be any problems, Papa's a nice guy; if you ever have a problem, all you gotta do is come to him and talk to him."

C - "Alright Yukino, I'll do my best to remember all of this; by the way, I never did tell you thank you for risking everything to get me here Yukino. Maybe one day I can repay you and your father for all you've done so far for me."

Y - "Hey, consider us even that you're alright and safe and sound okay?"

C - (giggles) "Okay then."

Me - "So Claire, how are you getting along?"

C - "Ah, Master Timothy!"

Y - "Papa!"

C - "Everyone has been so nice! Thank you, but if necessary, I'll move on once things have settled down."

Me - "No, that's not necessary, Claire. I know you need shelter and refuge, so welcome to my humble home."

C - "Oh thank you kind sir! There is much to tell you, but I am a bit tired. I assure you that I will sit down and explain to you everything, I promise."

Me - "Alright then, deal."

Me - "Hehe, you're welcome...You know me, when it comes to girls, the more the merrier."

Y - "Oh dear." (giggles) "I didn't even think about that."

Oh I know Yukino won't, she's my first. She's been with me ever since I've started the hobby. And I know Claire will do her best to follow the house rules while she's here.
