I have been looking for BJD roller skates and unable to find any. Tried various things- taking apart hot wheels, etc. and that didn't work. Got some vintage skates- too big and too small. So her outfit and her skates are from Target Our Generation - Retro Deluxe Outfit - Today's Special. The dress is too wide, but the belt cinches it in, and I had to adjust the elastic on the hat. The skate boots were way too big (because they're for American Girl-type dolls), so I simply sliced off the bottom parts and glued them onto a pair of generic BJD sneakers with E-6000.

That is so cute! The skates are perfect and exactly what I would do if I tried to do that sort of summer job too.

There is no one place to get doll furniture. You have to keep your eyes open. A lot of these pieces are not sold as doll furniture but as decorations. Some items are sold by regular doll outlets like doll stores and sites such as American Girl. Some things can be found at garden stores. Pieces can occasionally be found at outlets like Pier 1 Imports and World Market. Doll beds and couches have masqueraded as the same for dogs and cats at various pet stores. Item that can be adapted for doll use can be found at stores like Ikea. There is the occasional scaled down piece made as a manufacturer's sample.

You just have to be on the look out everywhere you go.

I have to admit to being absolutely OBSESSED with little things. So I am constantly on the look-out for little furniture, little props, etc. I have bought things on ebay, amazon, gift shops (tourist shops are sometimes a good place to find little things), grocery store (hanging on displays in the aisles, in the holiday sections, or in the toy section), crafts stores (like Michaels-look in the home decorating department because they often don't fit the safety requirements for children's toys-so are sold as decorations, plant stands, etc), antique stores, places like Ross (again- home decor dept -found a great upholstered sofa there), hardware stores, of course toy stores, and even liquor stores. I once found a tiny six pack of corona beer at a tobacco shop!

 

A lot of the American Girls/Our Generation (Target) and other 18 inch play doll clones have props that work well with Smart Dolls.

 

A really great time to look for tiny things is Christmas- a lot of Christmas tree ornaments are miniature objects that are in perfect scale. For instance one year Martha Stewart came out with a whole line of little cooking utensil Christmas ornaments.

 

Mainly just start keeping your eyes open where ever you go, and you might be amazed at the things you can find.
