NekoMel Posted August 4, 2018 Hello! I am new to this forum but I have been in the BJD hobby for just about ten years now . I started with a small "barbie" sized Volks that I ordered eyes and hair for that matched my daughters hair and eyes, and being fairly broke as a new mom she dressed in barbie clothes. My collection has changed since then with a hand full of Hujoo dolls and at one time a Bobobie (who was later purchased and loved by my mother) but for all ten years I have had my sights on the most amazing Dollfie. And my beyond amazing boyfriend just bought her for me last week Today we got shipping notice!! My beautiful Miko is on the way!! We did order her eyes of her own and I have been looking around at wigs, but I really like her basic one. I am super excited to make her clothes, I have enjoyed making all my dolls clothing but I have never had a doll above 43cm. So her size is extremely exciting to me for crafting purposes. Although I am not sure how I am going to handle her DDdy body! Annnnd I don't know what else. So feel free to ask me

cfx Posted August 4, 2018 Welcome! Get ready to be shocked by how BIG your new doll will be. Like you think you're mentally prepared, but no.. the box will show up at the door and you'll be all O_O Absolutely! Even after having a DD for a while, still now I'll order clothes and when they arrive it's like "wow these are big!"
NekoMel Posted August 5, 2018 Thank you for the 'warning' I will try to mentally prepare myself better I am excited to see her size. I thought my 43cm was big. I hope it will be easier to sew her clothes I think the shock will be a huge part of the excitement. I got the shipping update. She should be here tomorrow I told my daughter to bring it inside and send me pics of the box when she gets it! Then I just have to push through work patiently. luvira Posted August 11, 2018 Hello and welcome! I've too had resin BJDs for just a little over ten years and have recently placed an order for a DD. Only it seems our situations are just a little different; I've had mostly SDs for the most part of my resin family, and I'm ordering a MDD as my first vinyl doll. I hope you'll get your girl soon~ Post pictures!
NekoMel Posted August 11, 2018 Hello Luvira! Thank you 10 years of doll loving for us, I am glad to know someone who has loved them as long as I have :3 I did get her just recently (been busy working over time) so I have to get good pictures. My phone isn't friendly in indoor lights but it is good enough for a quick intro pictures of her I just need to figure my ways around the forums to post her now. The SD size is sooooooo huge I put her next to my MSD sized and was shocked. Everyone was right, her clothes are so huge!! I did figure out her name is Yume and shes most likely school aged young adult ^^. I am in the middle of sewing her a school girl skirt (yikes my first time making one) So I will have to post all that soon. Thank you for the kind welcoming! luvira Posted August 11, 2018 Yume is a really nice name! I've tried my hand at making doll clothes once, but realized I didn't have the patience for all the trial and errors it involved. Do you already have a pattern of the skirt from somewhere, or are you drafting the pattern from scratch? If you have a Flickr account, I could always follow you there since we're unable to post pictures on the forum for now. My Flickr ID is takoaisu. What's yours? NekoMel Posted August 12, 2018 Thank you I am pretty excited she chose her name so fast. Some my dolls took forever XD I have the patience for it, but I suck at drafting patterns. I tend to use premade ones or I just wing it and make them by looking and pinning and sewing them. If they turn out good I finish on a machine, other wise I hand sew so its easy to tear out ^_^;; I think I have a flickr account.... looking now... Yup MelzCreations Warning I had forgotten I even had an account there so its realllly empty and out dated lol! Guess its time to upload and spam
