NeeP Posted August 12, 2018 Hi all, I am hoping you can help, or point me into the right direction. I am looking for a history of the Dollfie Dream... where it began, what was the first doll, etc, etc... The history I am looking for may even be included in this forum, but I’d be darned if I know what kind of search terms to use. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Niki P. BeyondTime Posted August 12, 2018 Only places I know of are Wikipedia, and the database on Angel's Den. http://www.angelden.net/volks/ Chances are anything volks has on their history will be in Japanese on their Super Dollfie pages. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
NeeP Posted August 13, 2018 Thanks, Wolf. I do remember reading this once, and I am gonna read it again, but it covers the Super Dollfies. I am hoping for more information regarding the origin of the Dollfie Dreams. For example, how they come up with the idea for the frames? Did they come before or after the first Super Dollfie? Wikipedia even says ‘This page has not been created’. I will keep at it, but would appreciate any short cuts. Niki P. Cauldroness Posted August 13, 2018 Dollfie Dreams came after resin Super Dollfies. The first girls were a hard vinyl strung with elastic, much like the resin dolls. I think the first two might have been Candy and Mirai, which came out in 2003 (resin dates back earlier, to at least 2001): https://myfigurecollection.net/item/18103 https://myfigurecollection.net/item/18109 Not sure when they started using the internal skeleton instead of the elastic. BeyondTime Posted August 13, 2018 Admittedly I was thinking more in terms of the general history of the company and its doll-making. If there is no Dollfie Dreams page on Wikipedia then perhaps a group of people here could get together and make one. I can't imagine anyone else in the English language community would have the collective knowledge this forum does. The Japanese language version of the wiki has a Dollfie Dreams page: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%89%E3%83%AB%E3%83%95%E3%82%A3%E3%83%BC%E3%83%BB%E3%83%89%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%A0 Stuff the url into google translate, and the page may have what you are seeking.
