Eye and Head Options?

I'm getting a dollfie dream dynamite and I'm still trying to choose between the animetic eyes or regular eyes. I was wondering if anyone has any links to some pictures I can look at for inspiration?

I was also wondering if any other doll company heads would fit on the dddy body?

Here's a few things I was fooling around/ working with:

Yay for another DDdy girl! I have 4 of them and love them all.

 

I prefer the animetic eyes on my girls. All but two of my girls are using Volks animetic eyes, mostly Type I or F styles. I use a few of these:

I also have one girl with a custom eye, Ryomou Shimei. She didn't come with her Volks default eye so I had one made using an actual pic from the anime of her eye. Here is a picture of her new custom eye:

They have sizes up to like 24 or 26 mm and I actually have a few sets of these. One set is in my girl Mamimi and I think they work really well. This is a picture of her on an MDD body but you can see how bright those eyes are. They are 22mm.

As for heads, I'm pretty sure all the SQ Labs ones will fit the DDdy body with no problems. But I'm not familiar with any other heads out there other than Volks and SQ Labs.

Thanks for the reply and info, all your dolls eyes look wonderful! I'm now finding myself back at square one with more options and decisions to make.. I'm falling for the animetic eyes again, but I guess I could always get a normal pair and see how I like them. I think I decided on the HDD 02 head but I'm going to check out Sq Labs and see what they have.

Most people seem fairly against normal eyes in DDs. I have them in my Yukino and she's certainly received plenty of negative comments about her eyes. They do seem to grow on people though. I have a great many different eyes, so I'll just post some random pics for inspiration - a lot of my eyes I buy on yahoo japan or from dollfie world.

 

Aerie/Airy head with Arcana eyes from YJA

Personally, I prefer animetic eyes for most Dollfie Dream--but sometimes more realistic eyes can look really nice. A friend of mine has an Airy with non-animetic acrylic eyes, and I think she looks wonderful! Here's a picture, and another picture. There's another image that's really clear and shows the eyes well about halfway down her blog post about the doll.

 

It might be worthwhile to get a pair of each style and see which ones you prefer. You could even swap them out just to change things up sometimes~ ♥

Thanks everyone for your help! I enjoyed the pictures and links and again was inspired to give both eyes a chance. The dolls look good with both eyes so 'll just see when the time comes.

Ooh I've seen MT's Airy with those eyes and they really suit her. I think the key there is big iris and pupil. She looks quite lovely

Yes! All you have to do is print up some eyes in the proper size, cut them out and then glue them to the inside of the eye. Very simple to do.

Wow, I ordered Fujiko on the 20th. She's has a DDdy body....I think I got the last one. >_< Since I'm going to the Volks USA store next week I'll ask them when they are expecting their next shipment.

 

As far as eyes I like the Animetic eyes the best.

Aww lucky! I guess I placed my order too late. Someone on DOA said her friend contacted Volks and they'd be restocking soon. There should be an announcement on their blog in January.
