Monty Posted August 17, 2018 I managed to fulfil another photography goal I honestly didnt expect to for a while - using Melbourne's famous street art as a backdrop. Some people might know that I draw a goofy webcomic about Australian capital city gijinka (personifications), with Mel being Melbourne. He's basically a hipster artist (and also a huge nerd), and ever since I decided to make a DD of him I had hoped that one day I could take photos in the graffiti laneways. But Melbourne is really far from where I live and I don't usually have reason to go there. I got that chance last weekend thanks to getting tickets to see a certain comedy show as a super early birthday present. It was only a very short stay, so I didnt get to go everywhere I would have liked, but I did manage to get some lovely colourful photos. Unfortunately Mel isn't much of a poser, and I was kind of doing these in a hurry and wasn't able to think of many interesting angles/poses so a lot of them he kind of looks the same. Because of that I thought I'd only upload a few that I liked the best...but I ended up not being able to decide, so I'll just upload most of them. These ones are all from Hosier Lane: DSC_0816 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0818 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0821 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0827 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0829 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0830 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0859 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0864 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0876 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0815 by torinomh mh, on Flickr DSC_0831 by torinomh mh, on Flickr (that message just made me laugh) The next day I got some more in AC/DC Lane, including one of the sign. The best street-art is apparently in the suburbs as opposed to in the city itself. There are also entire web-sites dedicated to dobleepenting it! I am not sure yet what my next photo goal is - just this year I fulfilled the three main ones (the other two being snow and cherry blossoms). I'm really pleased about it though, and I need to make a list of new ones. *twitter*instagram*art*
