DD Sakura Miku

She's cute, but doesn't grab me enough to say I need a third Miku. If I got another Vocaloid it would be Rin.

I am glad for another rerelease of Miku, and the Sakura one is pretty cute too.  I think I need a Miku to keep my Kagamine horde in line.

I'll definitely be one of those suckers that buys a second Miku. Sakura version is one of my favorites. I hope it's pre-order like Snow Miku was. 

I've been dreaming of a Sakura Miku, so I'm beyond over the moon about this! I hope she will be a pre-order.
I am glad I resisted the Snow Miku (was too similar in makeup to the original in my opinion), but with the pink eyeliner and also looks like some extra blushing on her cheeks and lips has sold me for the Sakura ver. I have a thing for teal and pink so I want them both to display together.

It's impossible to say at this point what Volks will do. If she isn't a pre-order I wouldn't worry too much about her being hard to get. Chances are she will join the other Vocaloids in getting periodic re-releases during Hatsune Miku events. If you are in the US, and you don't get her in the April Dolpa event, I would just check the Volks USA site during Miku Expo and she will probably be there.

I know there's some hype, but I feel like this is my least favorite Miku version so far. 😕 I dunno, she just feels kind of. . . stiff? Bland? Not sure the right word at the moment. 

Weird question, but is there an autumn Miku too, or is there just the Halloween Nendo from several years ago?

I feel the same, but it's not anything specific to the DD; I just think Sakura Miku in general is boring. As for the DD, obviously it's still the same head sculpt, and I'll never be a fan of it and it still doesn't look like Miku to me, so I never expected to be interested in this DD.

I actually am pleasantly surprised by Sakura Miku. I am not a fan of the character because I do not like pink, but am happy with how Volks portrayed her. The pink lips and slight extra blushing make her just different enough to be interesting. I also think those cherries are so cute! I might try to find the outfit in the after market just so I can say I have it. 

oh boy this girl is going to be hard to resist! she is so cute! i can’t help but wonder if she is going to be flesh or semi white? the only picture they have released looks a little more warm than the others but it could just be the lighting....

Newer version of semi-white skin are a bit pinker than the original semi-white.

do you think that the re-release of standard miku will also be in that updated color? they are putting her on the f3 bodies so they would have to be remaking them.

Pretty sure my Snow Miku uses the newer color. With the F3 you can reuse busts and hands, but some of the other parts are different. I kind of doubt they have made the older color parts for a long time. Anastasia and Snow Miku are the newer color, and my Kos-Mos and Yukiho are the older color.

Edit: I got out my Hatsune Miku, and if she's a different color than Snow Miku or Anastasia I can't see the difference. When I compare them to Yukiho the difference is clear. Yukiho is a bit more of a chalk white than she is pale skin.

My Hatsune Miku is from a later lottery event than the original release, but she might have been original batch for all I know.

@Wolf thanks for the info! it definitely makes sense for them to use current pigment recipes instead of trying to revive old ones  just for one dolls re-release. also makes sense in terms of frames and bodies that are already in production.

Yeah, I think it's easier to use a new color in a head than to make all the body parts to make an old body color. I also would not expect Volks to make a head in one color and a body in a different color.

I imagine she'll be pre-order and also available in limited quantities earlier as a lottery or event exclusive.  That's how Luka was (IIRC).  Snow Miku was pre-order when she launched.

It's kinda hard for me to guess because while they are both Vocaloids and Vocaloids seem to always be easy to get, Sakura Miku and f3 Miku could be more 'special' and thus have a smaller release. That was my first thought re: Sakura Miku just because she doesn't have the presence that Snow Miku has, but like I said, with her new mascot status that could change.

I am 100% going to steal her outfit for my Miku when she’s released. I’m a sucker for those cherries.

I was excited to see her but something seems off, I think it is the face up. She's cute though. For some reason I thought she would have a different outfit, like a kimono or something like that.

I feel devastated about the new skin colors. Judging from the pictures the difference is a lot and this ruins all the plans for doll-hybrid people like me. Sky won't have a male body now  his current body (modified DDS to make it look like a male body) matches his head perfectly but he's the only one who doesn't a full male body, I want to give him his male body. I preordered Nier Automata 9S only with the intention of giving the semi-white skin male body to Sky and make the head into a girl with Sky's body. Now that the skin colors don't match it won't be possible...but I might overlook it if the difference is not a lot. Does anyone have the old formula with the new one? like an old body with a new head or vice-versa? 🙏 if the difference is a lot then I lose my interest in Nier and would give away my preorder to someone else.

She’s cute but she doesn’t really look like Miku so I probably won’t get her.

We had some discussion on this with respect to @Gabriel's KOS-MOS, who has a new f3 body, here:

From the pictures you can see the new SWS is a fair bit pinker than KOS-MOS. But I don't know if there were intermediate versions of the color. I've only been in this hobby a couple of years and the one doll in SWS I have is the newer color.

You can compare Yukiho, and Anastasia's skin color here. Sorry, since rimg is no longer a thing you will have to use zoom to get a good look at them.

Anastasia's skin is just a tad warmer. If Volks has changed colors again then all bets are off.

 

 

cfx and BeyondTime: Thank you!! the difference bothers me a bit but I'm still hopeful so I'll wait for Nier and see if it works.  It will be so hard to buy new items for old dolls, like hands. 😭

Honestly it’s so close I never even notice with hands. 

The display picture looks cute! Sakura Miku is one of my favorites.

She is -VERY- cute and absolutely on my wishlist ...mostly because I want all the Miku stuff.  *flails* But, I am holding on for them to release a Kaito.
