Dream choice advice :)

Hi everyone,

 

I haven't been online for a while since my one and only DD is still a floating head

 

However, I'm off to Japan in a month and I'm thinking about ordering a Dream Choice when i'm there.

 

I really like the smaller scale of the DDP body and am wondering if the DDH09 head could work for a younger character? Is the 09 head one of the larger ones?

 

Also, I'm assuming you can't book a dream choice appointment and not purchase anything? I'd like to confirm my choices before committing but I'm thinking thats probably not possible!

Theoretically any head can work on any body if thats what you like. I dont think it would look too strange as I think Iori's sculpt has some similarities with 9. I consider 9 to be medium sized myself.

I tried to find a pic but could only find one of a 9 on a DDP, and this 9 has been modded to have an open-mouth. I dont think the size looks too weird personally.

 

As for other options, you can see no.14 of the DCoords at Kyoto Dolpa this year was a DD14 on a DDP, and I think that combination works really well.

As for booking without buying...well, there was that weird blog we all rolled our eyes at a while back that somehow managed to do that despite not knowing a thing about DDs as some 'woah check out these WEIRD dolls!' thing.

I'm thinking of using a DDH-09 to make a Rika Jougasaki, and I would not mod the mouth. Won't be for a few months though. If no one posts before then, and the project actually happens, I'll be sure to post here.

For me, this combo doesn't work. Not only is the head big, but the neck hole is deep (shortens the neck) and it gaps like crazy. I mean even Yayoi that's made for this body gaps, but it's not nearly as bad as with 09.

If you compare the neck to Yayoi and DDH10, the gapping is horrible. And the head rolls around on the neck quite uncontrollably. So yeah, I'd say it's not a good idea, but then again I also find the Yayoi too big for the body and it's the reason I'm selling her...

I can see what you mean about the gapping, wow... to be honest even ddh01s kinda have a gap on the MDD neck and the head does bobble a bit but it doesnt really bother me that much, although that gap seems bigger to me.

Which is a shame because I think the head itself looks cute on the body. I think depending on the wig it could possibly be hidden, though...

I wonder if the DDH14 gaps like that...?

I agree the gap is really big and the head looks precariously balanced :/

I think there's always a possibility I could hide with a wig but I think a wobbly head would drive me nuts!
