The SB-SD-221 flats should really be used with thicker socks. Otherwise they're a bit oversized.

 

Also, I must say that I'm overjoyed that the Lace Knit Set(White) top has a hook for connecting the back of the neck strap instead of having to tie the bow like some of the older sets. It made life so much easier.

I think you mean SB-SD-221? 211 is the red satin pumps with black bows that we both have.

 

How is the fit on the SB-SD-222 platform shoes? I was considering those but worried they were huge/loose as so many of the SD (not SD16) shoes seem to be.

I did a very quick and cursory check during lunch. The fit is a bit strange at the back, little wobbly back there. Assuming my plan to play with dolls tonight survives contact with reality, I'll check some more.

The fit problem I mentioned in the previous post was me being in too much of a rush and not really getting them on my girl's foot. They fit fine.

 

The ankle strap has a LOT of slack, though.

I find it odd the straps are so loose as I have several pair of Volks shoes with ankle straps and they aren't loose like that, though most of mine are SD16 so maybe that could be a difference.

 

I had actually thought about using these removing the straps because I kinda didn't like the straps not being the same color as the shoe. I like the look of them otherwise so I think I'll get them and do that.

That may be why the straps are so loose; I suspected this was going to be the case upon seeing the f3 pics in the magazine. The f3 feet are different than the DDIII feet; much less of the ball at the joint is covered by the skin, so the cirbleepference of the ankle is smaller. Oddly, the DDS feet were already made similarly to the new style.

Wow, cfx, I never noticed the difference in the DD and DDS feet before (must be blind). Good to know in case I need to replace parts.

That's correct. That's the fit on an f3. Good catch.

Not darker. So I definitely want to hear from more people about their color match experiences before I buy

Yes. Once you've won items, it's basically like a standard order. The only difference is your user profile unlocks the availability of the won items in the store.

I won the SD Dark Owl dress and the matching necklace.

Leftovers from the lottery are now available on Volks USA. I managed to grab the two sets of shoes and two outfits I wanted (Sugar Purple and Milky Blue). I think I snagged the last Milky Blue, though. Sorry if anyone missed out.

So I went ahead and ordered anyway. The match between my SWS F3 MDD and other SWS parts I have from this year and last year are good. Not seeing a color difference unless I compare it to my yellowed 3 year old head lol. And even then, it's not too drastic. So it seems there's not an intentional color change on Volks' end.

My order from Volks USA arrived today. The luggage seems well made, which one would hope given how much it cost. XD

I had been following the coverage because I expected, since they were selling Anzu’s shirt, that Anzu would be announced (as an MDD perhaps?) at the volks booth there, but unfortunately not. Whysellhershirtthen 8’)

Although the vocaloid happi were limited to Magical Mirai at first and then made it online eventually so maybe these will too at some point...?

Kirari would be great. I guess she'd be made as a DDdy? She's extra tall and overall large compared to everyone else and Volks can't really make her taller but she should probably at least be represented by a different body type than the other girls.

No they aren't, but that's a tendency I can't stand. I think official character goods should approximate a character as closely as possible. If the consumer wants to customize after getting them that's perfectly fine.

I mostly agree. Since Volks has fixed bust sizes I can sorta accept this with DDs, though they've certainly made special busts before; 2B's is "flat" which is new so there is really no reason it also couldn't have been a different size.

 

Where this truly annoys me though is scale figures, and for whatever reason it seems to be done even more with characters that already have really large busts (or maybe it's just more obvious there); i.e. practically every figure of Valkryia Chronicles' Selvaria and the Dragon's Crown Sorceress. I basically refuse to buy figures where they do this, not just because they didn't follow the character design but really more because it makes the figures just look ridiculous to me.
