Rumi Posted September 20, 2018 Hi all i own a base body II now and i have a problem with identifying the color of it. The seller said it was semi white but im not sure if they had semi white on the DDII body? Im sorry if i sound dumb but i havent seen a semi white DDII anywhere Is the any way to tell what color she might be? I checked around in her box for japanese text but it didnt seem to state her skin color.
Subaru Posted September 20, 2018 Semi-White Skin only started becoming available during the DDIII era with the release of KOS-MOS. DDII was only available in Normal and White (with the exception of Sanjie and Kanu who were a light tan skincolor). Semi-White has a light peachy undertone while White has a slight yellowish color to it overall. I'm assuming the seller mislabeled the body as Semi-White instead of White. There is a chance, that they modified some Semi-White DDIII parts to fit over the DDII frame but I find that a little unlikely because the shoulders joints would be a challenge to work around. There's no such thing as a dumb question! Everyone has questions when they're just getting started and it's nothing to be ashamed of. I know I've asked a lot of silly questions when I was new to DDs. Ah thank you so much for the quick answer! Yeah i dont think she modified the body, and it does have a slight yellowish color to her aswell. She is pretty light but its difficult to tell since i cant compare her. I might take a chance on a white head for her
Cauldroness Posted September 20, 2018 The white skin is like a PAPER white color, extremely pale, with a slight yellowish undertone. If it's closer to the color of porcelain or bone china than it is to the color of a Barbie doll, it's likely white. Semi-white isn't nearly as pale -- you'd never call it "paper white" -- and has a slight pinkish undertone. I find it closer to Normal than to White. SWS was never produced for the DDII so I'm doubtful it's SWS, even with mods the SWS would not match the joints. Normal is still quite light (Volks "normal" is the same as Obitsu "whitey"), and has an orange-ish undertone. If the doll is closer to say, a standard Barbie or Bratz tone, it's probably normal. Hope that helps! Doll Photos & Doll Jewelry Sales: Follow me on Instagram!

She isnt super white but still pretty light so i got confused @.@

No, it's not PAPER white, unless the paper is creamy Yin - Yang by Michael, on Flickr This is Saber Alter v2 in White Skin. The photo is lightened (iirc a little of Orton Effect) and her wig and clothes are still "whiter" than her skin. This is a DDIII body, but I had a DDII WS too and the color was very similar. In the resin world You can have really white bodies, DD in comparison is just pale and not that much lighter than resin normal skin. Rumi Posted September 21, 2018 Thank you all for the help ^^ unfortunetly ill be returning the body as she has been cut on the inside in every place that has a opening like her shoulders that fit the arm peg her vinyl and skeleton is cut alot and im not sure why. The seller said nothing about this and only the stain she had. Every peg has glue on it aswell. It sucks, i might just go get a completely new doll with her fullset instead. Do you have pictures of the cuts? It's hard to tell if what you're worried about is just normal or not. My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

The cuts definetly seemed hand-made as the hand skeleton (square looking piece that connects to the peg) had been shaved and the other one was broken off at the top so it looks like a U shape instead. The torso chest vinyl had been shaved off at the bottom aswell when i took her apart, every opening or hole that connects a peg had been shaved off for some reason? There is also glue on her foot where the ball joint looking piece is, that i can only sand off. Her neck piece also had something sticky on it that i had to remove i hope the seller will accept my refund as she never mentioned any of this.
