The boots for Kanu Unchou's Chinese Dress Outfit

The straps are falling apart and the material is cracking on the boots. Is this normal? I kept them indoors and never let them get wet.

This isn't Kana-specific info, but pleather does have a fairly short lifespan.

After a few years, it tends to crack and peel, and there really isn't anything you can do to prevent or fix it. It's not just specific to doll shoes, either - it happened to a purse I used as a doll carrier, and a friend's jacket.

 

Probably time to look for a newer pair of boots, sadly

When I owned this set I had a very similar issue. I sold the set when the boots got too rough for my liking. So I guess you could say yes. I see this in a lot of listings for the set as well.

 

As stated pleather doesn't last as long as other materials they use. It just naturally falls apart over time. Though to be fair it did last like 10 years.

Chiming in and like everyone else has said pleather is just something that doesn't do well after a couple of years. Kanu and her clothing set came out in 12/07/08 so like Gunter said those boots have lasted for 10 years (once 12/07/18 hits). My pair of boots the straps started falling apart, but the overall boots are still in good condition. Luckily I had a friend who fixed the straps for me so they are still working
