Ie-Aster Posted September 23, 2018 (edited) This is a tremendously late photo post, but I wanted to show some of the shots I took of Mei in Hokkaido when I went there in May. (...I have been very busy with career and work related things and somewhat in over my head, but seeing a comment from Singer Yuna reminded me that I had completely forgotten to post these, so these going up is thanks to Singer Yuna's comment!) One of the famous tourist spots in Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island, is Farm Tomita. It's a lavender farm which is most popular in the summer when the lavender is in full bloom, but it's generally beautiful, and located in the hills by Hokkaido's mountains. The train journey there from Sapporo was almost magical (for someone who doesn't see countryside very often)--first long expanses of fields, then hills dotted with the last sakura blossoms of the season; over rivers on narrow bridges, through forests with tiny brooks slipping down rocky creek-beds, some of them with water turned red from the minerals in the rocks. The train tracks even went through a mountain--twenty minutes in absolute darkness save for the lights inside the train. Then there was a bus ride and a ten or fifteen minute walk to the farm itself. It was quite nice to walk in the fresh air of the countryside. The lavender wasn't in bloom, but many other flowers were--including in a special flower garden called Mother's Garden. This path was a good size for Mei and Eevee! The elegant fall of the blossoms evoked an odd sort of melancholy in Mei, and she paused for a moment, thinking about a certain scientist that she once knew.... Some of the lavender fields were on the hillside, so Mei and Eevee climbed the path along one in order to get a lay of the land. The town of Nakafurano stretched out below. After all that walking around, Mei and Eevee took a break by a small brook, and Mei took out her map to figure out where all they had been. All around them, the sunlight streamed through the trees, and in the distance the peaks rose up, high and still snow-clad. And for a moment, once more, Mei found herself thinking of that person she'd once known. -- Outfit credits: Skirt: Factory33 Sweater: Purple Dream Bag and wallet: 1pinfun Stockings, halter top: Volks Glass eyes: Coeur*Lapin I hope you enjoyed these shots. Which was your favorite? I think my favorite is the last one--I was super excited to have found the Dollfie-sized brook. Next up will be pictures from Shiroi Koibito Park in Sapporo itself! Anna-neko Posted September 23, 2018 Wow, another excellent lil shoot by you. Mei's new eyes look their absolute best in the outdoors here Eevee's lil face is practically screaming "don't you dare send me back into that pokeball right now" (and maybe wanting treats... do pokemon keep a hidden stash of treats in their abode)
Monty Posted September 23, 2018 I really wanna go back to Furano >< Ie-Aster neglected to mention how good the food is there too I also like the one beside the brook, it really is nice that there was such an appropriately small brook there! *twitter*instagram*art*
Ie-Aster Posted September 23, 2018 Wow, another excellent lil shoot by you. Mei's new eyes look their absolute best in the outdoors here Eevee's lil face is practically screaming "don't you dare send me back into that pokeball right now" (and maybe wanting treats... do pokemon keep a hidden stash of treats in their abode) Thank you! The eyes are really stunning in the bright sunlight. I think Eevee pretty much always wants treats I wouldn't be surprised if Eevee at least does keep a treat stash in the Pokéball! I really wanna go back to Furano >< Ie-Aster neglected to mention how good the food is there too I also like the one beside the brook, it really is nice that there was such an appropriately small brook there! I was so happy when I saw that brook, after seeing the tiny brooks in the forest from the train and thinking how nice it would be to take photos at them. And you are right about the food Time for food omake shots! This is the seasonal curry at Farm Tomita. The asparagus was farm fresh and was very sweet and delicious--the spring asparagus I had in Hokkaido, both here and in a department store in Sapporo, was the best I've ever had. Also, the rice everywhere in Japan is so good. This is the melon soft ice at Farm Tomita. Melons are a famous product of Hokkaido, and this melon soft serve really tasted like a fresh melon. Ie-Aster Posted October 8, 2018 Thanks everyone! Ah, more gorgeous pictures! It's always a pleasure to see when you post! Thank you! I am happy that you enjoy the photos so much The 3rd image is my fav of your takes. Wow you eat such a delicious thing *-* Thank you! The food there was amazingly delicious. That melon ice cream looks so good!! Mei looks wistful. I wonder who she’s thinking about? It was very, very good. It tasted exactly like a perfectly sweet melon. I'm glad that I was able to convey her wistful mood! As for the subject of her thoughts, it remains a mystery for the moment... The photos are very nice!I think it was quite hard to take care a doll when I was on trip. However taking photos in Japan is very great! The scene is so beautiful! I think Mei also enjoy this☺️ Thank you! I think Mei enjoyed it a lot Now on to part II: Shiroi Koibito Park! A Shiroi Koibito is a famous brand/type of cookie from Hokkaido. Rich cream made with Hokkaido milk is sandwiched between two wafer cookies. For some reason, the Shiroi Koibito company has a theme park in the city of Sapporo. It has a European theme, and there is a place where you can see the production process through a window onto the factory floor (which sadly I couldn't see since it was closed for renovations), a museum of antique hot-chocolate cups, a set of super-detailed miniature dioramas depicting the chocolate-making process... ...and a bunch of miniature houses. Mei looked like quite the model here. She seems indifferent to the guy looming in the window... (I think he was just a random passerby...I'm pretty sure it wasn't my reflection since I was leaning/crouched down at a very low angle to get this shot.) The culinary omake is the breakfast I had in the fish market that morning. Sadly, no uni, but there were scallops and ikura, two of my favorites!
