baldylox Posted September 29, 2018 Somehow I forgot to post these up! I went to this festival back in early August and had a great time there with friends from the Charlotte area. I won't post all of the pics I took her, just the ones dealing with dolls. This festival was held in downtown Charlotte. DSC_1744 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Inside were dealers for all sorts of things like toys, food, drinks and trinkets. There were cool displays too like these with the festival dolls. DSC_1750 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Since a bunch of doll owners showed up, we brought dolls. Here's my Cirno dressed in a pretty yukata. She was bouncing around in excitement so this shot was blurry. DSC_1751 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr The main festival was set up inside a huge building and lanterns were hung all around. Cirno was trying to grab one. DSC_1752 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr We met some new doll friends there! Twin brothers had twin Chitoses! It was really cool to see. DragonRen had his Chitose there too so we got a cute group pic. DSC_1755 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr Oh man these guys and gals were awesome! They had a Taiko Drum performance every hour or so and it was so cool. I'd seen these in person in Japan too so seeing one again brought back some really great memories for me. And this group actually works at Epcot in Disney! They were super talented and nice to talk to. I bought 2 of their DVD's and got a group shot of them. He was dressed up in his Picachu hoodie. DSC_1761 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr They had lots of Japanese food there so we grabbed some sushi and lemon drink. That drink was GOOD. DSC_1766 by Billy Bennett, on Flickr In the center of the main hall was this tower where they played a single taiko drum for the matsuri Obon dance. Cirno scrambled up there for some pics along with Chito. After we left there we went to another town just outside Charlotte where we hit some parks with the girls for more photos. I'll have those up later today. Thanks for looking! There were some food stalls and some games outside but it was in the mid 90's that day so we stayed inside as much as we could. And we did have a really good time there.
