Blue toe mystery

My Infinity had a light blue tinge to her toes when I unboxed her a month ago. It looked like she has worn dark shoes or socks previously. I ignored it as she is going to wear socks and shoes at all times. She's been sitting, barefoot, on a shelf waiting for her shoes to arrive from Aliexpress. They got here and I took her down, only to find her toes are darker than before. How is that even possible? Frostbite?

Vinyl is porous and the dye will spread through it. Time to treat her toes so it starts fading instead of spreading. (At least that is my guess.)

If your Infinity was purchased new you should contact Smart Doll customer support. If she was purchased used, shoes without socks or dark socks is probably what caused the staining. Many black dyes have a strong blue component, which could explain the color. Tight contact in shoes can force dye migration from socks and the interior of the shoe material.

Think of vinyl as a very, very, very thick liquid with the staining material slowly diffusing over time as sinclair mentioned. The stain will spread and fade but never entirely go away. The relatively small size of the feet will limit how much the stain will spread. Since the stain seems to have darkened I can only guess that the stain source material remained in contact (continuous or intermittent) with the feet.

Time for a trip to the "spa".

I ordered her new, but was unsure if they would believe I hadn't done something to stain her. I suppose getting in touch with them couldn't hurt though.

Sorry this is late, but if you still have that stain I would suggest trying Remove-Zit from Twin Pines of Maine. I've been able to get many stains out with it.

Otherwise, Dream Rescue Cream from VOlks will work out just fine for Smartdolls I have saved my Ivory from horrible horrible stains with it.
