Hello! I figured I should introduce myself. I've been collecting bjd's for years, and only recently feel in love with vinyl dolls. I've got a couple of smartdolls, but my reason for joining is because I've got a DDS Karin on the way now, and I'm so excited to get her! I've been having a lot of fun looking around the forum and seeing everyone's cute dolls!

I totally understand about looking around the forum and seeing others' photos of their own DDs! It's nice to see how others dress them and fun they have with them. Hopefully you can join in once you get your Karin (oh and congrats on purchasing her)!

Thank you! I... honestly have no idea how long it will be, heh. I bought her from the Volks international site to get the DD-f3 body specifically, and my payment is doing something weird. It looked like it had gone through, but three days later Volks 'confirmed' it, and now all the money is back in my account? Volks assures me it will come out again when the payment finishes, but my bank says otherwise!

 

Sigh, I shouldn't be so impatient, I've waited half a year for a doll before. I had hoped she'd ship sooner though, since she's in stock.

 

Ah well, there's lots of pictures to look at and I can daydream about the stuff I'll make her in the meantime.

That's really exciting that you have a Karin on the way!! Her photos are definitely what pushed me over the edge of getting my own DD, although I ended up getting a used DD3 and a blank head bc $$$ lol.

 

What sort of things do you plan on making for your new girl? I was a bit overexcited when waiting for my body and tried to make her a crochet cocoon sweater based on pure measurements, but it turned out to be more of a shrug. Whoops!

I'm dying for a shipping notice at this point, lol. The money just sits in my account untouched, its maddening!

 

I'll probably make her some basics first, protective leggings and shirt so she won't get stained. Then all my girls always get jeans and some kind of casual shirt (probably a sweater, since its cold out, lol). After that it's up in the air, by then I usually have a better idea of their 'personality' and can start making more personalized stuff. I also ordered her a super curly blonde bob wig that I think will accent her beautiful eyes really well.

 

I've never had a payment go so poorly though! It's making me so anxious, lol, I wish I knew how to deal with it in a reasonable way, instead of just fretting.
