Obitsu50 height modding??

Recommended Posts

DistortedDiva

Is it possible to mod your Obitsu50 body's height???

I always thought her legs were too long, and now It's so bad I'm having a hard time bonding with her!

Too me the legs just looks freakishly long, andnot porportionate to her torso at all!!

Is there any way to make her legs smaller?

*EDIT*

I was thinking cutting off some of her thighs, as that wouldnt requre modding of the actual skeleton

The easiest way is to buy shorter legs.

Obitsu makes a 48cm version of this body, which is shortened in the legs. Other parts remain the same. To convert your girl, you would need to purchase exterior vinyl 48cm thighs and 48cm shins. You would use your existing 50cm knee joint part, although you might have to shorten it a little to fit into the shorter vinyls. These leg parts can be purchased from Obitsu through a proxy or from other retailers like Parabox.

Parabox sells 40cm, 45cm, and 47cm bodies based on the the 48/50cm Obitsu architecture. These bodies have shorter legs and the 40cm also has a shortened spine. These bodies and parts are manufactured by Obitsu exclusively for Parabox so they can only be found new at Parabox

The Parabox page has a nice comparison picture of the 47cm, 48cm, and 50cm bodies. All the bust and abdomen exterior vinyl parts are interchangeable. Arms and feet parts are identical.

I was looking for a no-cost option, as I am out of funds for the next... long time...

But thank you very much for the links and info!

Shortening a vinyl body is not at all like working a resin where you can just trim and sand. There is a lot more fitting and gluing required and once you make a cut you have to live with it. You can't easily "sneak up on it" by trimming and sanding till you get where you want like you can with a solid resin body.

On the Parabox site they used to have a tutorial (in Japanese, w/o translation) on how to modify a 60cm Obitsu body down to about a 47cm height by making several cuts to the legs, which include splicing the exterior vinyl and trimming the interior skeleton. This was about 10 years ago back when there was only a 60cm Obitsu body and if you wanted a shorter vinyl gal you bought a Volks MDD or did this surgery. I've done it and it is rather extensive and there are visible splices you will be left with. You would have to decide where on the 50cm body to make the cuts using the tutorial as a rough guide.

You can browse their English and Japanese sites. It might still be there somewhere.
