Volks USA Special Holiday Event 2018

Still haven't decided if I'm going to upgrade my Miku to S from SS, but with Volks changing over to the new body I may never get the chance. Also means my Saber Alter won't get more then the sword holding hands she has...

 

Why does the change prevent you from getting busts and hands? Those parts are compatible between the two frames.

Yeah, the parts Volks sells for busts are the same whether it's f3 or DD3.

 

I had been considering buying a SW L flat for my f3, and then moving the M that's on it to my DD3 Snow Miku.

For Saber Alter, white hands probably will go away at some point just because there is no white skin f3.

I wanted to see how well the Sailor Moon set fits S Bust so put it on my Yuriko Nanao, who I have on an S-bust unitorso. Sorry the lighting & shadow in the photos is a bit harsh since I really just wanted to show how the Sailor Moon set looks on an S bust.

 

For starters Yuriko looks great in Sailor Moon cosplay.

Here are front and side profiles of the set without the ribbon in the way. I won't call it a perfect fit on S-bust, but it fits much better than most M-bust outfits fit an S. Personally I think S bust better reflects the anime. I am hoping that Ami & Rei have a similar fit, and that Volks basically just reuses the leotard part of Usagi's outfit design with the colored bits changed to fit Mercury and Mars.

Looks good and the blue matches her hair.

 

I remember some discussion here when Usagi was first released about how tight that outfit is on the M bust.

I found it difficult to pull it up over the M-bust, but snapping it in the back wasn't a problem. It is very snug on M-bust.

I'm not surprised. I have various Volks outfits that are ones rated for S-M or SS-M busts, and none of them fit S as well as this outfit appears to.

I had issues snapping the back on my Serena with the Sailor Moon outfit, which is why I made her a S bust soon after. The Super Sailor Moon outfit went on much nicer.

Whoops I missed out on Snow Miku but I'm still waiting for Luka so maybe for the best I don't get one.

I was definitely under the impression that there was only one of each because that's how DCoords typically are, so that's some awesome luck. Curious if anyone else here won any of them.

Wow, congrats! The sculpt is extremely versatile from the looks of the 3 official faceups Volks offers for it so it would be cool to have them done up differently. (I personally think the slightly smirky variation of it would make a great boy)

Thank you!! I'm really into girls right now but I'm going to change the face up from one of them and see if the doll might look better as a girl or boy. The DDP body looks like it could be for a boy too since it doesn't have big hips and boobs. Now I want to give my big girl a little brother I also have more boy clothes for that size than girl clothes. (MSD boy clothes are bigger than MSD girl clothes). Thank you for the idea, Torino!

Two winners in this thread so far very cool. If you got the DDH-11, I got the 15, that means we both got the most expensive ones. I was curious why it costed $11 more then the DDdy.

I've always wondered about these tiny differences in prices; earlier in this thread I questioned why in that holiday event Santa Saber was $2 cheaper than certain other dolls.

 

Anyway, congratulations to you two that won these. It's great people who actually want the dolls won instead of someone wanting to scalp them for profit.
