Kaguya looks amazing. I have the Pureneemo version of her (as well as Chika). I'd love to try and get into the anime again but keeping up with the subtitles was a titanic effort.

I’m finally forced to pay closer attention to these now that my favourite character is coming out. (Oberon from FGO)

It says they’re doing both the first and second ascension with the first (blue)being shown first at GSC Doll Summit- although I’m not sure if that means two separate dolls or if the second will be an outfit set. I’m looking forward to them showing him though - his design is so doll-like I’m glad there will finally be official dolls of him.

Only thing is I wish he was a Humming and not a Bloom - mainly because I think his wide cat mouth is  a charm point of his design, but the Blooms have such small mouths.

I also considered this at first, although I’ll wait and see what he actually looks like. They confirmed he will be using the root head so I hope they do manage to paint him in a way that resembles the character. At least root’s eyes are cat-like enough. I love Oberon’s outfit and entire design enough that I’m excited enough just to see it as doll clothes to be honest.

FIRST REAL PHOTO OF OBERON!

I’m so happy with how he turned out! I’ve been looking forward to this reveal all week and it really met my hype. I really like the eyeshadow on his faceup especially.

In the venue photos they posted, it looks like the placard next to his display says December. Chika Umino also drew a beautiful picture for Dollybird magazine, and the label on the bouquet mentions the December issue.

So many of the recent Harmonia Bloom releases have been so much more ambitious with their faceups, especially the boys, and it’s really cool to see. The thing that made me so disinterested in these dolls for so long was that their faces were always just kinda blank and starey to me for so long, but the sculpts are really quite cute. 
 

edit: unfortunately the December on the placard isn’t for him specifically: you can see both placards much clearer in these photos and the one next to the actual doll says the release date is undecided, while the one under the character art of Oberon says he has a feature in the December Dollybird. I kinda hope the feature says his release date though. It seems Harmonia preorders take a year or so to ship, but I want him yesterday…🥲

The #ドルサミ hashtag has a whole lot of photos from multiple angles too. It’s cool they put him in an open display like that instead of behind glass so people were able to do that.

I really hope that future licensed dolls in these lines collab with artists like this, I think the difference in the detail and quality of the faceup for Oberon vs the past licensed dolls is really striking. 
 

I also realised they didn’t announce any Humming characters at the event which was a shame but hopefully they do at the next Wonfest.

I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case because two will be really expensive, but I definitely want both of them.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the big feature on him in Dollybird! I haven’t bought an issue of it in so long so it’ll be nice to get one again.

I instantly recognised that needlefelt Blanca as being made by bugs factory (muimui_s212 on twitter, seems Dollybird are following their account now too) so I’m not sure if he’ll come with her or not. I actually bought a silk moth from them earlier this year to be a Blanca for my SD Oberon, so it’s nice to see their work as Blanca officially!

Edit: Dollybird (and later bugs factory themself) confirmed it’s bugs factory’s work, and like I thought he doesn’t come with her but the magazine issue comes with a guide to make her which is cute.

(Also…I congratulated bugs factory on this, and they said that it was my photos of my Oberon with their silk moth that introduced them to Oberon and Blanca to begin with, so I’m a bit stunned😳

Is this the first time Harmonia (and GSC in general) have ever had an additional outfit set, that didn’t come with a doll? I know Rico, the outfit designer is a giant Oberon fan so they’re really going all out with this collab. I hope that if he’s selling well enough to get an additional outfit, he’s selling well enough to get his Vortigern version made too. They clearly want to make him - they keep bringing the custom one to events and had him at wonfes too, but have said a few times now they don’t yet have the permission.

I just saw the announcement for the release of their budget (well, still expensive, but not as much) doll line called Near Harmonia! The dolls will NOT have the joint articulation that the normal dolls have and will instead have a simple body like default blythes with standard 5 point articulation (plus what looks like a joint at the bust? not sure if it's an actual joint or not). There are 3 dolls and they come with eyes/makeup/wig but with simple dresses instead of the elaborate costumes. It says they will be ¥7,500 and have an October release, but pre-orders start April 18th.

When I saw that they weren't articulated I was a bit bummed out, but for the lower price (and extremely cute faces!) I'm still interested. It even advertises the dolls as "the perfect size to carry around" and promotes bringing them out and about. Lately I've noticed that the dolls that I hang out with the most are the more simple ones. The less elaborate hairstyles, fragile joints, and delicate accessories they have, the more I feel comfortable playing with them tbh. The only concern that I have is that the feet are stuck in the high heel pose, which I feel like REALLY limits their (already small amount of) shoe options. If you zoom in on the promotional photos of them in other Harmonia outfits, you can see that they don't fit into some of the shoes 😐

I’m looking forward to getting one and comparing her to my Harmonia bloom.

I also hope Near will be a great introduction for those new to the hobby.

I know many like the Harmonia series but couldn’t justify the price

Interesting point about the feet. I hadn’t noticed. I guess I was too mesmerized by the price 😅

I agree it is a wonderful feeling to have a doll you’re comfortable playing with.

I hadn’t thought about it until you mentioned it but I have the same feeling when it comes to my Blythe. I have no worries about losing her hands or feet or breaking any joints.

I’m curious how often GSC will release Near.

And what is the difference between Curious, Chatty and Mellow, if any? I don’t pick up on subtle differences in dolls for some reason 🧐

Tbh I think the only difference between the 3 is simply the wigs, eye colors, and dress colors. It looks like they all have the same makeup too. I think that's kinda nice though, since that way if the one you like is sold out, you can just change the eyes and wig on another and make them look the same. I also wonder if there will be more fashion and accessories being sold separately now for the Near girls (please be more shoes!!!!)

Coco from Witch Hat Atelier was announced!

I think Coco turned out really cute. I didn’t used to care much for the Bloom head but the little smile on her is adorable.

GSC held SmileFest yesterday and announced a whole load of figures,nendoroids etc, and also had a Harmonia section.

They showed Oberon’s summer prince outfit! I hope the PO starts soon. I think it turned out well - but from the photo his wig for this set seems to be all one colour instead of having the dyed ends of the actual doll which is a shame?

They also announced a PuiPui Molcar collab. At first I thought it was just the hoodies, but it seems like they are complete Near Harmonia dolls. Chino Syoko did the faceup and eye design on them too. I like how unique/almost cartoony these faceups are compared to others.

I’m surprised they didn’t announce anything for Harmonia Humming again - I wonder if that line is a lot less popular than Bloom, cos it seems they’re often in stock on amiami for greatly discounted prices - it’s kinda a shame because I do want to see more of those.
