littlebirdzoom Posted January 14, 2019 Here's a picture of a faceplant my Mei took. I was trying to balance on the board with her and it shook and I don't know what I was thinking but eh, it was a funny shot. My DDs have dropped more times than I can count. As much as I treat them like princesses, wash my hands before touching them, set them down on nice things, keep everything clean and I handle them very gently and slowly no matter what - faceplants happen. And I never worry about it. If my resin dolls were to ever do that I would have a heart attack, but I've developed lightening fast reflexes for that xD The only DD I'd worry about is the one that as a very expensive custom faceup and who is also my... *covers the ears of everyone else* favorite girl. When I'm not handling them they're posed in stands or sitting on something cute, so when the dropping happens it's usually when I'm playing with them and turn around when they aren't as secure as I think. Or mid-photo sometimes hehe Waiting for eternity for Volks to release more Idolm@ster girls.
Hollytastic Posted February 21, 2019 I've dropped my girl's legs. Specifically the legs! Uh I don't know... dozens of times? Slippery little legs for some reason. > n > Otherwise, not yet. But I've dropped and broken other types of dolls. I'm kind of clumsy to tell you the truth.
Pink-Yoshi Posted February 21, 2019 We just recently came back from Galveston Island. I was taking pictures of Hana on the shore and she face-planted right into the ocean.
sinclair Posted February 22, 2019 We just recently came back from Galveston Island. I was taking pictures of Hana on the shore and she face-planted right into the ocean. Washer her really well with clean water to get the salt water off of her, and then lay her out to dry. Probably be best to take her apart.

But do you have any advice on how to get the sand out of her hair? We ran water through it but I still see sand. It's Rin T. V2's wig and I didn't want to risk hurting the pigtails

CammiXu Posted February 26, 2019 They're a lot more durable than they seem. I always manage to grab her before she falls, I think having a DD is honing my parental instincts.
Lina Posted March 8, 2019 I once practically face planted and dropped my doll after I tripped in a dip in the yard. She (and luckily my camera) were both fine.
BeyondTime Posted March 8, 2019 I once practically face planted and dropped my doll after I tripped in a dip in the yard. She (and luckily my camera) were both fine. OT, but it's neat to see a custom Lina Inverse. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

Mizuumi-no-Otome Posted March 18, 2019 I'd absolutely crap myself if I dropped one of my girls, not just my Vinyl 1/3 dolls but any doll really LOL. I'm really over-protective and anal when it comes to keeping my dolls perfect so I'd freak out lmao.
Ikataru Posted March 20, 2019 I am a queen of clumsy and so are my dolls. I think they've all fallen in every room of my house ...and probably out in public. The only issue I have ever had is my Yuiko (Snow Miku Dollfie) seems to have a loose head and if she hits the ground hard enough her head will pop off and roll away. But, any scuffs or marks from falling I've easily been able to clean off with a magic eraser.
LynaLune Posted March 21, 2019 (edited) I haven't dropped my entire doll but I have dropped parts like hands and heads. I usually catch Saber before she inevitably tumbles over lol. Edited March 21, 2019 by LynaLune
20blackbags Posted April 10, 2019 I’ve never dropped my dolls but they do some times like to fall forward. If I don’t catcher them in time they are always fine. I try to make sure when I pose them standing they are leaning against somthing, or at close enough to me that if they try to dive off a table I can catch them. Pit Posted November 11, 2019 (edited) One time not long ago was just about to drop my girl when I was posing her for a photo. At the right moment she leaned forward, I had reflexes I never had before and nothing happened fortunately. I don't want to drop her. Never! So since then, before taking a photo I assure she's completely balanced and when resting, I put her on a wide and clean pillow. But well, even for the most careful person, accidents could happen. Only hope this doesn't happen often XD. Edited November 21, 2019 by Pit

battrastard Posted December 1, 2019 Back on my very first group meet with the other “EcchiZonans”, Tana fell off the stack of bombs I had posed her on. (she had a loose leg joint that Scripple and the others were Very helpful in educating me on repairing!) She did a faceplant, and her head, being resin, didn’t get marked at all.. ive since looked at it as another learning experience in how sturdy these lil snots (I mean that affectionately, ok? 😝) really are! 2 "Madness takes it's toll, Please have exact change!" NekoMel Posted December 27, 2019 I have dropped my girl very few times, however my cat likes to rub against her and push her out of her chair often. So far no damage has been done to her at all. Only issue she has had is minor staining. But I have the same feeling as many others, it would be terrible to not be able to see her and play with her because of fears. Even when she gets minor stains I just love her so much I have to take her with me places and dress her up and pose her. So don't fear to many drops or anything, they are surprisingly durable. Sord Posted December 30, 2019 I haven't dropped any of them yet. But, one of my dolls named "Teri", fell over on the table twice while I was trying to pose her without a stand. Thankfully, no damage was caused in both instances.
Nekozoe Posted April 7, 2020 Yeah... I remember when I got my DD Luka I put her on a table to take photos of her. I went away for a couple minutes. When I was coming back I heard a loud crash from my room. She fell over ;-;. The platform heels on her shoes make her slide a lot! Thankfully she had no damage. I just needed to put her wig and accessories back...

Haruka Posted June 11, 2020 Wow. That's good to know that they're not fragile like a resin doll! Go plastic/vinyl!
