DDH-09 DDH-07 on mdd body?

Hello everyone!

I really like these heads DDH-09 DDH-07, but I can not find pictures of these heads on the body of MDD. Can someone please help and take pictures of them on this body?

Hi! Funnily enough, my original plans for my beloved, perpetually floating 07 were putting her on a MDD body.

And, less encouragingly - here are all of the reasons why that wouldn't work.

 

I don't have any MDD parts on hand, but I have an 07 head and a similarly-sized slim MSD body, and I can confidently say that an 07 on a MDD body would look kinda ridiculous. My MSD has a slightly slim neck, but, even if it was closer to the size of the MDD neck, there would be a huge gap. 07s on smaller bodies just look... kind of bobble-headed, because of their size.

07 is a really big head. For example, 07s and 06s are most commonly seen on full-size DD bodies, and look normal there - but 07 is visibly bigger than 06 when you put them next to each other. 07s are just... large. (I love them, but I have to accept them for how they are Big-headed intellectuals!)

 

You could consider acetone-shrinking an 07 to fit a MDD, but that's not a perfect science, hardens the vinyl, and might necessitate in some modding (additive or subtractive) to the neck hole, to get it to fit the MDD neck.

Stylistically speaking, I'm not sure about that either... 07 is known as a "mature" head, and I'm not sure if her features would work for a MDD. If you do want to try that, though - more power to you! I'd love to see it.

 

(I would talk about 09, but I haven't acquired one yet. Not sure if 09s have the same "big" look as 07s - but 09s are also known as "mature", so there are the same stylistic concerns there.)

She surely is a cutiepie, but I still feel 09 being a more mature head sculpt, even with this very young and nice face-up

Oh! She's so adorable!! She looks like the kind of kid that unsettles adults by being smarter than they expect, lol.

 

I want to use a 09 for a DDP body in the future, because I want a smaller teen/adult character. I think the more mature features are gunna be absolutely perfect, and if it works so beautifully on the MDD it should be just fine for the DDP!

Got beat to it. But I'll post anyway as I spent the last couple hours working on it for you. I don't have a DDH-07 head, but I do have a DDH-09 and a MDD. Here is my little Yumi (A DDH-01 Rena head.).

 

 

Here is Miyu's head (DDH-09) on Yumi's body and with Yumi's wig.

 

 

And wow, the DDH-09 is smaller then the DDH-01. Yumi's wig just floats on Miyu's head. It falls off even with a silicon wig cap when I move her around. And now Miyu getting her wig.

 

 

It is a very different feel. Not sure I like it, but I think with the right faceup, wig, eyes, and outfit it could work. Even on the smaller body Miyu's head just looks better with her wig over Yumi's. Not sure if that's just because that's what I'm used to or not.

jaderose, Thank you very much for the answer Yes, perhaps the incompatibility of the head hole and neck size is a problem. I'm not ready to mod anything yet Х) But there are also dolls with 06 head and body MDD and like looking good.

sinclair, Thank you very much for your photo. It is very surprising that the head was even smaller! And frankly, I much more liked the look of 09 head than 01, especially with her wig:) And tell me please, how did the head sit on the body? The hole for the neck is not too big?

 

Some adulthood of the head does not bother me, I even think that it looks like a serious and intelligent child. But seriously, now I even thought about what would put 09 head on the body of the DPP, as well as UnderOrange.

As far as I know the hole in the base of the heads is the same for all the heads. They didn't sit any differently that I noticed.

To add something to this, all DD heads and body sizes are compatible in terms of the head hole that fits on the neck pin as the sizes are the same.

 

Depending on how picky one is, there is a potential issue with the neck diameter and the size of the well in the head that fits over the neck. To illustrate what I'm talking about, reference this pic from Yenna:

She's showing DDP but MDD will have a similar issue where you can see a gap from some angles, or the alternate issue where if you put a head with the smaller size neck well like the DDH-10 on a DD body, the head isn't going to go down as far as you expect so you end up with a very long "giraffe neck."

Bringing this thread back from the dead since I stumbled across something interesting. Someone on Y!J is selling an 09 on an Obitsu 48cm body https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k369771980. (archive.org doesn't like me today, so I couldn't put a more permanent link, sorry.)

 

Not quite a MDD, but the proportions are similar. I think she looks pretty cute, even if she is bobbleheaded.
