Is her wig messy?

How do you treat wigs of your dollfies? Do the wigs often get uncombed? Do you have special tricks to treat the wigs and make them more mess-proof? Or you just brush them via comb and tooth-brush? By the way, why does not volks or any other brand sell one piece wig for dollfie dreams like figma figures have?

For me it depends on the wig - certain ones are more high-maintenance than others. I generally prefer working with heat-resistant fibres, as I find that they tend to "stay put" and tangle a lot less. However I also love yarn wigs for the gorgeous multicoloured effects that I can create, but those need constant attention. A sigh in the wrong direction leaves my doll looking like a freeze-frame in a shampoo commercial! That, and due to the glue used, washing yarn wigs isn't really possible either.

Although, my one pro tip for dealing with tangle-prone synthetic "wefted/sewn" wigs (ie. those that are not brushed yarn, fur, or mohair) that I learned from my cosplay days - If you can get a small sample-size bottle of detangler spray made for horses, it will make things SO much easier! Obviously only use it when the wig is on some sort of wig stand, and not on your doll, so you don't coat her face. Just remember to only use a tiny bit, and especially for long wigs, start from the bottom and work your way up. Honestly, in general I recommend looking at cosplay wig care tutorials written by professionals/manufacturers, as cosplay wigs are made of many of the same fibres, just with much smaller wig caps!

As for you last question...If you're asking why Volks don't make plastic hair pieces...I can't speak for others, but the whole reason I like Dollfies is because they look more like an anime character brought into the real world. Solid plastic hair would just make them look like statues or figures.

He/Him --- I like making stuff --- Please don't make sexual/lewd comments about my dolls, thank you!
