Does anyone here have this volks outfit ?

Hi,

I have a kinda odd question, I was wondering if anyone had the Volks La Parsonal Collection Blue Label - Plaid & Frills outfit set and if they had any pictures of their dollfie dream wearing it?

Yup! I have that set and it really only fits the DDdy girls nicely. The skirt is a bit odd in how it sits on any other sizes of girls. The top fits an L-bust girl well but the skirt falls right off them. The one really nice thing about it is that it doesn't stain! I washed it in my laundry twice before I tried it on anyone and so far, it's never stained any of them even after being on one girl for over a month.

Sorry I don't have any pics of it on my girls tho. Maybe I can do some next week if I can get a chance.

Billy

I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Cool , Thank you so much for that information baldylox it is really helpful and yes pictures would be wonderful, When you had it on a Dollfie dream did it just sit low on the hips or completely slip off, I ask because in Volk's picture it looks like it is made to sit lower on the doll.

Can I also ask if you still have the original packaging and if it has the size sticker on it?

That is also so nice to hear it does not stain, yay!, It has a fun Irish/Scottish look to it that would be really fun for St. Patrick's day .

It looks like it's made to fit SD girls, with a larger waist. I can imagine how it sits on a regular DD! I've tried other similar outfits on the DDs, and they're just too wide at the waist.

Super cute, though.

Thank you for that information galatia9 about your experiences with some volks outfits, is there a certain Volks clothing line that can have these fit issues or is it kinda random ?

From the information online that I found about the set it, said it fits SD, sd-13 girls, DD (S/M/L bust) and DDdy (normal/shapely/natural bust) but it sounds like people are having different results then that .

If it fits on a DDdy then it's likely the skirt is going to be loose on DD with their smaller hip size; that doesn't always mean too loose but just that it won't be a tailored fit. Some Volks outfits have the multiple hook and loop connections to adjust them, but I don't know how long ago they started doing that. If this outfit doesn't claim SD16 compatibility though the skirt shouldn't be huge.

The outfit in question was released September 2009 from info on the LPC Blue Label voting page:

http://www.superdollfie.net/dollfie20th/en/pj02_bs/05dress_pbl/

See Item #41. Unfortunately outfits this old no longer have the Volks pages up on them.

I have varying luck finding pictures on Japanese doll blogs of various Volks outfits on DDs, but I couldn't find anything on this one; the older the outfits are the harder that seems to be.

Not very helpful I know.

Thank you so much cfx for the excellent information and the link to the voting page, I had not see the picture of the set that volks had there, that helped a lot and it is also interesting to hear that some Volks outfits have hook and loop connections to adjust fit, that is a great idea. Thank you too for the tip on looking at Japanese doll collector blogs for outfit pictures , I will have to do that for future outfits, Looking though the voting page there are so many volks outfits that look really nice .

I did own this outfit in the past and sold it and the person who bought it says the skirt does not fit their doll, but it fit my girl , So I am trying to figure out why there was such a fit difference between the two Dollfie dreams. I wonder if underwear might have anything to do with it possibly.

It may also be a difference between DDII and DDIII: DDIII definitely has a bit more of a bubble butt than the DDII.

To add a bit to that, I was looking at Billy's body topics in this section. His Yukino comparison:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3791

From the side, the DD3 does appear to have a larger more bubble butt. In addition, if you look at the bodies from the front or back, the thighs curve out much more on the DD3 so it's wider below the torso than the DDII is.

So it does appear if you used that outfit on a DD3 and someone else on a DD2 they might find it loose where it'd fall down.

Volks oufit sizing and compatibility, beyond just what they say fits what, is complex enough already, but with some changes in the DD bodies it is even more confusing. The new f3 might have fiddled with some dinensions as well.

In addition to the good info already mentioned, Volks plays fast and loose with their fit descriptions. They may say an outfit fits SD, SD13, SDGr and DD, but there's no way it could be a perfect fit on all of them! You're bound to be unhappy with the fit on someone, unless it is a casual slouchy outfit.

Thank you for letting me know about that comparison thread and you are right it does look like the DD3 is wider.

That is also good to know about Volks sizing, I have never had a issue but I will definitely keep that information in mind for the future.
