DD clothing

Hello there. I am sure that if you visit Figurefm, you have seen quite a few custom clothing outfits that my girls have gotten lately. Most of these have been made by a good friend of my Mom's, her name is Anne.

 

She used to make clothes for babies and large dolls but had not done it in a few years. When she heard about my DD's and my sisters, she wanted to see them and then her interest for making clothing resurfaced. So she has been making things for us for a little while now.

 

So basically what I want to know is the following:

 

1) If she were to sell these, would you be interested in buying them?

 

2) Can you give me opinions on what you think of the styles below?

 

3) Can you give me ideas of simple styles you may want to see or buy?

 

4) Can you give me an idea on whether the prices she is asking are fair?

 

 

She enjoys making clothes in her spare time and this is not a job for her. She is retired and can't make these all day long so I know she won't be able to crank things out super fast.

 

I would just like opinions if you would give them and if things look good, I plan to start selling these on the Figurefm classifieds area. I will handle taking orders for Anne and she will be accepting Paypal for payments. She will ship anywhere as well. But we haven't gone too deep into that yet since we are not sure if demand is there or not.

My opinion:

 

1) If she were to sell these, would you be interested in buying them?

Most likely. I'm interested in the brown shirt, but would prefer it to have an underneath white layering for stain protection (which I am willing to pay more for).

 

2) Can you give me opinions on what you think of the styles below?

Would prefer some of the shirts to cover the waist. For instance, if a normal jeans is on, the shirts would be covering the "belt" section of the pants. And, for some reasons, I feel like not enough fabrics were used. But hey, that's probably just me. Maybe my sight is getting poor (seeing that I am wearing glasses all the time now).

 

3) Can you give me ideas of simple styles you may want to see or buy?

More over wears (coats, sweaters, etc). It's probably just me, but I prefer long-sleeves over short-sleeves.

 

4) Can you give me an idea on whether the prices she is asking are fair?

It's fair. I'm not bothered by it.

Well, she says that including an inner liner would pretty much double the price due to making what amounts to 2 shirts. But the brown material this shirt is made of won't stain the DD's.

Most of the long sleeve shirts will cover the belt areas on the girls. The short sleeved ones are a bit shorter in length tho. As for the number of fabrics, she is only using what she has at her place. Since she is NOT doing this as a business, she doesn't "stock" much material. These are the first wave of sellable clothes she has made.

Sweaters should not be an issue for her but I don't know about jackets and coats. I will need to ask her about those.

I wouldn't mind paying double for an extra white layering (for extra stain protection). With that said, I would like to mention that that skirt looks nice when combo'ed with a sweater.

I just so adore it, but the release date was awhile back (2008). It's impossible to find one mint in box nowadays. Although the dress part is a little off, the overall set is nice.

They are pretty casual and the colours are so nice. My mothers collect fabrics and I know whitch are the ones good!

I agree with Halcyon: coats and general outwear are pretty rare to find in pretty colour and for a resonable price. I would like to see some mantles and hoodies! I would like to see more long skirt and dresses (over-knee and under-knee lenght skirts are so nice on young-like DDs and MDDs!). Online there are some sites that share links with patterns for basic and elaborated dresses, coats, shirts, camisoles and cutsews: if you need some i can share them!

I think the prices are good for those nicely done clothes.

Oh, that dress set! Is pretty easy to make if you use jersey cotton or some others soft fabrics! Tha only thing thifficult in there are the frills on the shirt... Those kind of details are pretty difficult to make^^'

 

If you don't get what I have written let me notice it... Writing in english can be pretty difficult when you are tired and you have studied all the afternoon and the evening!

Oh yes, ANYTHING Saber related is going to be hard to find and when/if you do find it, it is going to be expensive. I love that outfit too but have yet to see it for sale anywhere.

I do not own an MDD so Anne does not have measurements for one. But maybe I can ask her if she can work from measurements alone. Let me get back to you on that.

Or what other clothes do you want to see on her since she is an M bust like your Euphie? And do you have any specific angles or views you want to see of the outfits? Thanks guys! Anne did a wonderful job on the kimonos. Now I have 4 total and only need one more. And Anne has the fabric I want to make that one so I'll have her get that done soon. If you liked the red one, the newest one is gonna knock your socks off.

The "peach" set is nice. I would love to buy it, but I have already committed myself into buying Volks' SD Carrying Case (Mixed Tweet), and I spent a little too much on camera accessories (bag, tripod, protective cover for my bokeh lense, etc). Noo!! (Now I feel like selling my YuGiOh Counter Fairy Deck on eBay) LOL!

I hope this doesn't come across as a commercial. I just wanted to let people know I've been very happy with Anns work.

 

I purchased a pair of PJs as well as a beautiful blue kimono and I've been very happy with them. The PJs were very cute and you can see my Sakura and Yukino wearing them while they were helping open of Lilys box:

 

 

The blue kimono can be seen on my Sakura below. I have since been told I put her kimono on wrong, it should be left over right.

 

 

In fact I loved the blue one so much I've ordered one in red!

We don't have an MDD to get sizing from so I don't know if she could do it or not. Maybe if she had some measurements of one it could help. I'll ask her about it when I talk to her later this weekend.
