Unusual Items To Use For Dolls.

While grocery shopping we walked past the Christmas clearance cart and I saw these. At $3 each I couldn't pass them up.

I guess they are suppose to be wine bottle sweaters. They have little lights in them. But I thought they'd work for my girls. I tried to put one on a DDS body. It was hard to get past the shoulders, but otherwise the sizing isn't too bad. The arms are too small around at the end to get any of the girl's arms in, but I was thinking I could just cut them off and make them sweater vests. So for $6 and some time a couple of my girls will be ready for next years 'ugly' sweater party.

EDIT: Fixed title.

I like the American girl clothes because some of them have very cute designs. The pants fit good on my dolls (DDS) they reach their knees and the shirts can be a bit baggy but I fix them or use them as pajamas. I have many sets for my girls and boys. An outfit can cost from $6 to $13 but that's ok compared to $20-$30 bjd shirts...

Correction: it is not American girl doll clothes, that outfit above is from "my life as" dolls. They're so similar to american girl dolls but I don't want to confuse people.

I can't post pictures, but they used to make little zippered pouches for smartphones that look like Dollfie sized ita-purses. They have a clear panel that let you read and use your smartphone while it is inside. I found one that was Sailor Moon branded. It comes with a small strap which makes it look like a dollfie purse and a longer one that a human could use.

Seeing this thread again reminded me of a youtube video I found recently. Like sinclair's Santa bottle jacket things, this is a military vest that appears to work quite well on DD (well, shown on Smart Doll):

I have a small collection of Lipsmackers lip glosses that look like various drinks that I love using as props! I have soft drink cups of Strawberry Fanta, Sprite, and a peach drink, as well as a bottle of Mountain Dew. They're super cute

I bought 14 inch doll clothes at Big Lots today for my DDP girl.

They are a bit shorter than on the MDD because of her height...

But they still work out really cute with leggings and bloomers.

I will have to share some photos when I get the chance to take some.

(Weather provides terribly lighting right now.)

Oooh, I have an MDD and an Obi50 (nearly the same size as DDP), so I"m definitely interested. What doll line were they for? I wanna google it, lol.

I've also used wine bottle cozies as outfits for my girls! I love that they get themed clothing for cheap

I also got the adorable chair she is sitting on from Walmart from their 18" doll line. They are a teensy bit tall for them but MDD (and possibly DDP) fit great! But I don't think they look awkward for DD thankfully

I have that same chair, but in off-white! It makes a really lovely lounging chair for my DDS

I just picked it up online, but I found /tactical vests/ for beer cozies and I think it'll work for DD's!

They were called "style girls" from the Play Zone line, apparently.

Specifically the 14 inch dolls (they have 18 inch dolls, but those things are too big I think).

The things are a bit shorter than they would be on the dolls they were made for.

The sweatshirt is like a 3 quarter length shirt on my DDP.

The skirt is short, but works fine with something underneath.

Even the tights fit although a bit snug. I don't know how their shoes work because I didn't buy any.

There are some imperfections, but for $7 I'm fine with it haha.

The one sweatshirt has a star in the middle and reminds me of something Star from SVTFOE would wear.

Aaah, okay. I Googled that line, and I think they're the same-ish size as American Girl Wellie Wishers and Battat Glitter Girls. . . which both have a TON of compatible clothes on Amazon.

This may be a dangerous discovery.

Wow, that looks like a nice one.  I'll have to cut the sleeves off of the ones I got and make them vests to get my girls in them.  Where did you get that one?

I'm sorry, it is not american girl doll clothes, they're from 'my life as dolls'. I got them at walmart. I confused them with american girl dolls because they're similar but I went back yesterday and got a bunch more, then I read the tag carefully. Anyways, if you don't mind fixing them I think they're a pretty good deal. I got many dresses, I'm gonna fix them and share later!

My girl is essentially a "working adult" character, and I use mini liquor bottles like you'd see on airplanes as props for her when she's supposed to be lounging after work.  The real hassle is finding a sized tumbler to match.

Try a dollar/loonie store, perhaps?  A few years back, I picked up a bunch of tiny candles in glass holders.  Once the candles came out, they were the perfect 1/3 tumblers.  Maybe something similar could be found, or look through the toys?

A lot of good finds! It's not one of the items, but I didn't know that there was a freakin RPG (As seen in cfx's post) in 1/3 Doll size! :o

If you're okay with your doll looking less classy, some dollar stores have shot glasses that look like mini red solo cups. They're a bit big, but it could work until you find something nicer.

Well, between the two of you, looks like I'm headed to the dollar store and see what I can dig up!  Thanks!

You can get the RPG as well as some other weapons and props from Doll Nouveau:

https://dollnouveau.com/

Or on Etsy:

https://www.etsy.com/shop/DollnouveauStore

I believe the items are 3D printed and painted as you can see the slight texture "mill marks" in some of the pictures. I'm just pointing that out so there aren't any surprises.

Ok, thanks! I'm definitely saving those links. 👍

Apparently Bed Bath & Beyond sells a miniature drum set that is the right size for Dollfie Dreams.
