I'm originally from DoA - as I am sure some of you are- but I stumbled upon this board because I've really fallen in love with Dollfie Dreams. Sure, I like resin dolls and I have an SD13 I adore but.... I can't help it... the power of Dollfie Dreams compel me. I'm an artist and I (this sounds over the top but it's actually true) paint giant paintings but I also really love detail work so I paint Dollfie Dream face-ups too. I sell them via eBay once they are completed and so far I've sent girls all over the US but also to Germany and Italy! It's been really exciting and I love help other people create their dream characters- people have AMAZING vision for who their dolls become. ^^ Anyhow, I've probably said enough. baldylox Posted February 28, 2011 Welcome to the forums! It's always nice to see someone who comes from resins get interested in the vinyl goodness that is the Dollfie Dream! I'm on DoA as well but the DD's don't get much attention there, that's why I really like it here. There are some very knowledgeable people here so don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have. So you do faceups? I would like to see some of your work if you have any links to share. I am looking to get an 03 head soon to go on an older DD body I have and was looking for something a bit different than what my normal faceup artist does. You guys are awesome and thank you so much for the warm welcome. *^^* I've looked over the forum rules but I didn't want to post anything out of place and get 'ban hammered' right off of the bat- which is why I left my blog out of my intro post. O_o Here it is for anyone who is interested: http://dollflip.blogspot.com/ I don't always think it's everyone's style but they seem to do okay on the eBay which is surprising/nice. I never sell anything that I, myself, wouldn't buy. That's really the most important thing to me (besides customer service)- to use nice products from Volks and send people a face-up that they can turn into their dream character. I'm always surprised by how people develop their girls. I've been keeping a close eye on the Special Edition DD-02 head since you put it up on eBay 3-4 days ago. Right now it's at [$127.50], which isn't bad in my opinion; $150 is a fair price I would say. I started the auction at $1.00 and just decided to see where it would go. The reserve is set fairly high because I know it's a collector's item and if it doesn't go for enough then I'll pay my eBay fees and try to sell for the highest bid or offer it for somewhere around that price. It's just that her face is so sweet and seems unusual for a DD- especially Aoi HDD-02. I really love her and thought I would create twins.... but then Kyoto 8 limited items showed up. If you decide you want to take her home, I wish you every bit of luck in the auction! ^^ I need to try and save money for Beatrice..... erggggggg....... if I can get her..... I would pay over $200+ for it any day, but I'm kind of broke at the moment. I only have in my budget for a $500 SLR camera and two full sets of clothes (worth of $400). And then, I have to save up for a bokeh "boke" lens (good ones are around the $1K mark). Well, I might bump your auction to [$150] and see if someone is willing to snipe it. Currently, it's at [$125.00]. -Update- Oh, I bumped your auction up to [uS $172.52]. At first, I entered [$150.02], but it looks like there was a top bidder, and this bidder's highest bid is probably around [$180]. Thus, I just left the bump at [$172.52]. I just checked the auction and was super flabbergasted! (<-- never sounds good but always entertaining to write) Yeah, she's a great face-up to go with a maid outfit and a DDdy body. I don't know why that is... she just seems modest and sweet, I suppose. There's a lot of people "watching" that auction around 30ish depending on the day. The current high bidder has purchased one of my OOAK DDs from me off of Ebay before and is a serious bidder. She's in it to win it! She's great to do business with if you ever auction on the eBay. Additionally, I've ordered some special Volks HDD-01 already with face-ups from my DD Compilation purchase. They won't arrive until May-ish. You kind of have to see them in person to get a better feel for who they are and if you want them in your doll family. For instance that HDD-02 up for auction is actually very pink with opaque lips and the DD Gathering 2010 HDD-03 is more translucent in her coloring. I'm sounding mildly insane but I love my DDs and am super picky about their faces... Your camera sounds amazing. Mine is such a piece of junk- it really makes a huge difference in the presentation of the dolls and what they communicate online, yes? I'll be jealous for now and look forward to all of your future pictures! Oh, and thank you for bidding on the auction.
