Why hello there!

Hello everyone!! 

My namy is Ikataru 🦑 (Ikakeki, or Ika is fine too)!  ...I am a 35 year old from Kentucky USA. Married for -almost- 16 years. 

I've been a doll collector of some sort since I was a child but it wasn't until around 2010 when I became more interested in the BJD world of dollies. My first doll into the Asian themed bjd style was Pullip. I enjoy collecting all sorts of dolls from my old Monster High collection, the resin beauties, and the kawaii anime vinyl gals. I am glad to see people of all walks of life enjoying the doll world. I currently own 2 Dollfie Dreams, and 2 ...and a half Parabox/Obitsu dolls. That is the extent of my vinyl collection at this time. 

One of my very-very best friends and self-proclaimed sister is also in the doll hobby and introduced me to this forum. I had seen the previous forum when searching for random doll related things ...as well as other doll forums across the internet but never joined them. This is the first time I've ever formally joined into the doll community outside of my instagram page. Heh. 

Hey there Ika! Nice to meet you. I also became interested in BJDs around 2010 (although I didn't acquire a doll until 2013). I'm the opposite of you though- I've been in the whole forum scene for quite some time, but just recently made an instagram page last week. 😂

 

Which Dollfie Dream and Obitsu models do you currently own? 😃

Welcome to the forums! Probably was best that you joined now so that you didn't have to re-learn the site like how some of us old users have had to do (or maybe that's just me)! Glad to see another user closer to the Midwest and that you decided to give the forum a go! 👍

I'm just as curious as lildollface though, I'd definitely love to know what vinyl doll models/sculpts you have at home! 😊

Kira (Parabox/Obitsu Hime Ane head & 40cm body) 

Toshio (Parabox Sleeping Princess Head) 

And a new girl in the works that is another Parabox.

Hi Ikataru! Welcome to the forums. I'm really interested in seeing Toshio. I have a fondness for the sleeping dolls. I don't have one myself, but I really like to look at them. I think they look so peaceful and innocent.  

I like Pullip dolls too, but I don't have any. I don't think I've even seen one in person, but online they look so cute. I have a small collection of Monster High Dolls that I want to paint and customize myself. Are yours customized or do you keep them the way you bought them?

Toshio is adorable even if he is just a floating head. 

There were a few that I had customized myself and a few that I bought/got from a friend who customized them as well. But, for the most part my Monster High collection was the default dolls. I enjoyed their motto and what they stood for. I got a little addicted and at one point wanted to own at least one of each character. Hahah.
