I had this idea the other day, but I'm worried about oils and the like and wondered if there was anybody more knowledgeable who would know what to avoid and look for? Monty Posted March 31, 2019 (edited) I’m interested in whether this is dangerous or not because my sis has some perfume called ‘pink sugar’ that smells exactly like cotton candy, and since I thought it might be cute, I put the tiniest little dab on the wig of one of my resin girls - her name is Lyrica Sugar after all, so it seems kinda fitting that she should smell like sweets. It’s only really detectable if you get very close, and then you can smell a very faint sugary scent. Its not something I would make a habit of and was more a one-off amusement, because I was also worried about any bad effects. Noxxbunny Posted March 31, 2019 (edited) When I use a scent for my dolls, I tend to make sure that what I'm using doesn't come into contact with the vinyl. If I'm using an essential oil, I will put just a teeny dab on the top part of their wig and then not reapply it for about 3 months or so. But to be completely honest, I apply it not only because it smells nice, but because I'm extremely arachnaphobic and I want spiders(the very few who manage to evade my other 1000 defenses...) as far away from my dolls as possible. So my dolls smell like citrus(or peppermint if it's the holiday season) most of the time. I haven't had any ill effect on their headcaps or their wigs yet. But I really do just add a drop basically.
