Regarding GRANADO Vindoll

Hi there, hope everyone is doing OK!

I have a few questions about the boys above. Are they allowed on our forum since we moved? They are vinyl...

I tried to watch anime series Baka on Netflix not so long ago. Vindoll are quite resembling the characters in there. ;) 

My main question is - if they are allowed on the MP? And if they are - where should they go, please? And if I am looking for one - where may I put WTB request?

They have internal skeletons and 1/3 scale. I also want to know where to put DollceA head photos.

I have two of those boys, I just wondered if I can list them here anywhere on MP and where I could post "want to buy" requests for GRANADO Vindoll.

Since the Granado boys are not considered on topic here, you cannot buy and sell them in the Marketplace.  You can however do a looking for thread in that section if you're after clothing for them.  But DO NOT try and conduct sales for the dolls anywhere on the site as they are not on topic.  Your best bet for sales of those guys is on Facebook in one of the doll groups that is open to all vinyls.

What is the reason Vindoll isn't on topic here? Is it because they are owned by a resin brand (Granado) rather than all-vinyl? (although couldnt we say the same about Dollfie Dream and Volks?)
I'm a bit puzzled to hear they are considered off-topic as I assumed this new forum was going to be for all vinyl dolls...? I'm a bit confused.

I'm seconding that.

Vinyl? Vinyl. "Anime"? Anime.

I'm not trying to pick a fight here. Just trying to understand. 

I have to echo @Monty and @tarasska about why Vindolls aren't considered on-topic, when one of the major points of making a new forum was to be more inclusive of other vinyl dolls besides Dollfie Dreams?

I looked at the list of requirements on the Guidelines page for on-topic dolls:

... and Vindoll does fit that criteria?

The only thing that sets them apart from Dollfie Dream (and Smartdoll) is that they have a more realistic aesthetic, but I don't really see why that should be a problem. Well, that and Vindoll is, currently, a male dolls only line (but who knows, that could change in the future?).

I would also like to know why they are not on topic, I need one of those guys and would love to share him here 😍

I don't get it either. Male dolls aren't even my thing but with the changes in the forum to not be DD-specific I just assumed these would be on-topic. I thought part of the idea behind that was there weren't really any other vinyl doll forums so we were opening up a bit so those people could have a home too. I think saying "go to facebook" is kind of rude, honestly, though maybe that's my anti-social-media bias at work.

Even if that's it, Smartdoll Eiji isn't too far removed from this, and if that's a criteria, where is the line drawn, DD 2B and 9S are more realistc too.

Alright everyone, despite all the things hinted at above, there's nothing like that going on here.  There's no grudges against a mostly resin company, there's nothing against male dolls and there was certainly no rudeness implied when I stated "go to Facebook."  I was merely trying to help out.    I was under the impression that they weren't on topic because Averis never added a separate section for them here and I figured they were to be added into the OT section because of that.  We also never really discussed them as being added here either.

 

I talked with Averis about this just a few minutes ago and we both agreed that by his new rules for on topic dolls that Vindolls *WILL* be allowed and given their own spot on the forum.  But they won't have all the sub-categories like DD, SmD and Obitsu do.  That was Averis' call, not mine.  They will also be allowed on the MP but will go under the "Misc" section.  That is where all other dolls that don't have their own sections and fit the criteria can be sold/traded/etc.  Again, that was Averis' call as he thinks it will be best this way.

Thanks for clearing that up. I assumed they would be in an ‘other’ section while not being considered off topic, purely because they don’t have enough content or releases to warrant an entire sub board. 

I was also curious about the implications for Fairylands upcoming 1/4 vinyl line, which is anime-style, I assume it would be treated the same.

No problem, I'm glad we got it figured out for everyone.

As for the Fairylands stuff, as long as they fit the criteria Averis laid out, they'll be welcome here.

Not to get off the topic of this thread but....what?! Do you have any photos or links you can send me about this line? I haven't heard anything about it (which might be because DOA is the only BJD forum I frequent and they're likely off topic there) What an exciting concept, I love Fairyland so much!

Thank you so very much for putting effort in sorting it out! I think Averis did absolutely right placing Vindoll among the other allowed dolls, because with all my adoration of Crocus's creations, they occupy much smaller segment of the market for now.

YAY! so finally will be able to share my 4 Vindolls freely

Thanks! I'm thinking of getting a Vindoll and see if it'll work for Kaylus' body if he color matches properly but I've also seen some of their  sculpts and they are quite gorgeous so I might just snag myself one. 

I'm really curious to see what Vindolls look like next to other 1/3 vinyl dolls, especially other boys. I'm sure they're ridiculously huge lol

Also about modding potential, because I love the body but I'm not that into the realistic heads...
