Hello from San Francisco

I first learned of Dollfie Dream in 2011 from browsing myfigurinecollection website when I began collecting figurines. My favorite Dollfie was Airi from Queens Blade. I was still in college back then and broke so she was out of my reach. I think she was going for $900+ on ebay.

 I recently came back from a 5 week trip across Japan from Hiroshima to Tokyo. (My first time visiting Japan) I have been collection figurines for several years and decided to visit a bunch of mandarake locations hoping to find used figurines for a good price. While browsing the shops I saw the Dollfie Dreams behind glass cabinets. They were more beautiful in person than the online photos. I told myself screw the figurines I gotta get me a Dollfie. I visited 7 Mandarake locations during my trip only 1 location had Airi at the time but she was missing the costume and accessories. I decided I would try to find Airi on my next trip and settled for a Saber Alter Version two. She was 75k yen and tax free. Towards the end of my trip I had the urge to purchase a second Dollfie. Had to run it by the girlfriend. Told her Saber Alter would be lonely and needs a sister. I ordered a face up commission on Etsy and purchased a DDIII body from the Volks Store in Akihabara. They had the Party event going on and I was able to pick up one of the new carrying bags.  Stopped in Hong Kong for a few days to visit my girlfriends family. I was sad to learn Dollfie World closed. I managed to find two shops. One which did custom face ups and I purchased 1 of the 3 he had on display. Will have some photos to share at a later date. My dolls are naked waiting on outfit pre-orders and body stockings from cool kats to arrive. 

Big thanks to all forum members. I found a bunch helpful information and links to companies which made clothing from the previous site before the move.

Glad you've found a couple girls though! What sort of face-up did you order? An original design, or based on an existing character?

Went with an original design for the face up. I asked for white hair, red eyes along with two little hearts on the cheeks. Super excited for when she is finished. 😀
