Some people have found out they've been banned whilst trying to order the Shiki Idolmaster doll... 😬 the post I saw on Facebook got deleted though  😕 

Also one of his tweets really rubbed me the wrong way with how he said this:

"To folks who are having trouble with the anti-bot mines - many folks seem to be able to check out so I guess you need to read more slowly."

To me it's kind of insulting people who don't speak English as a first language or people with reading disabilities...

Found out I was hammer timed when trying to order Shiki (well, I ordered her, and it got immediately refunded);  Decided to test/confirm it by ordering a shit bag from a shitbag.

he did that because he figured that rich parents were just as likely to be pigeons as the single rich collectors who even had a limit to ow many Mirai faces they needed to stare soullessly at them at any given time.    Also pretty sure kids look nicer to tout on his pages than middle-aged otaku.

I'm starting to find the paranoia that comes with owning a Smart Doll unbearable. I saw a photo of someone's doll wearing a piece of apparel that hadn't been released at the time, and my first thought was 'is this person an informant? Was that their reward for dobbing someone in?' 🤔

People who were counting on that as a fallback are screwed I guess? Does anyone know if the dealer(s?) would actually agree to enforce that? I wonder if Danny would drop them if they won't, that seems like it would be extreme but honestly who knows? I know a lot of people who are going to be much more anxious about getting banned now who were relying on having dealers as another option. I guess you could still have someone order on your behalf but obvs that comes with issues too.

Isn't sharing consumer data a breach of consumer privacy though? Sure, mr shoe baby can probably say he wrote disclaimers etc but those can't be legally binding if the consumer had no choice/the terms are obviously skewed to put the consumer at a disadvantage.

@ChrisFhey The gift card probably was an identifying factor so that Danny could figure out who to ban.

You left out the Gotcha, this is what I determined to be information that would single you out in their database along with any disclosed locale info, so instead of banning everybody with a certain doll purchase, just limiting the options that have the gift card applied, alongside possible location details.

Considering that fabric and friends was mentioned as a fallback in this very thread a short while back, it’s quite possible he read this thread and took this very action in order to have some petty revenge against people he’s banned for speaking out. 

I wonder if it never occurred to him that by cutting people off from purchasing SmartDolls directly, he’s basically freeing them to speak their mind openly without any further fear of reprisals. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

It all depends on the nature of the game... unfortunately.

if the point of the game is to cause moaning and whailing, and then turning that feedback into something to inject to the followers deemed more worthy, to cause another type of reaction ...  its still a win on their part?

But there is some truith that it only takes somebody with enough of a personal fellowship clout to get nixed by this, who will not be swayed by sugar-coated apologies after the fact, that the tune might change ...

Edit: Also I'm legitimately pissed at people's reactions to this and it's really hard to not say anything in Facebook groups. They're all acting like this is completely normal, insulting people who allegedly complained, and in general acting almost brainwashed. I feel like it's such an obvious manipulation tactic, and it's making me really upset. It's hard to like the dolls seeing all this. I almost want to leave all the groups and sell my last Smart Doll and just be done with it. 

Lot of ppl on FB commented saying that Danny is punishing everyone for the actions of a very small, vocal minority. And others compared the behavior to toxic parenting. Then a mod came in and dropped this bomb.

Also AFAIK the complaints were not about timers, but rather the system of not taking orders until the timer was at zero. People wanted to be able to order whenever and just have the stuff shipped out when it was available. So Danny's removal of the timer literally does not address anything. It was just petty.

Paraphrasing the screenshot that was removed : Danny and team are the ones who are actually being punished, and we should support them and their choices instead of "turning on them every chance we get". We have to realize that they are humans with emotions, feelings, hopes and dreams too. Oh and this wasn't an attack on people who were complaining.

It’s worth pointing out that a worldwide backlash does kind of require unhappy people all over the world, and most of us are only really capable of pissing off our immediate neighbors and co-workers. It takes a special kind of person to alienate the planet.
