Help with knee joint repairs

Sometime ago I bought a DD base body 2. The knee joints are totally loose so I bought some kips at coolcat. I dismantled the legs, unscrew the joint and can't go further. The joint refuses to separate. I dont want to force it so I'm asking if anyone has managed to tear the thing apart.

There should only be 2 screws holding the knee together.  Then slip off the small round cover bit on the end where the shin peg goes and it should separate easily.  I know I've used kips on the MDD girls knees before but I've never needed them on a DD2 before, tightening the screws was always enough to do the job.  Is the main screw stripped out in the knee?  You might need to check and see if that's the issue.  Just replace it with a slightly larger screw and tighten it up.  I've done this several times with no problem.
