Talolili Posted January 2, 2012 I've been thinking of giving my DD a temporary stick on tattoo, but I'm not sure if it'll harm the vinyl. I've seen people give tattoos to their plastic or resin dolls, but not to DDs. Has anyone ever tried this before?
Kumi Posted January 2, 2012 I'd use waterslide decal. You can even print or paint Your own, using special waterslide paper. It shouldn't harm the vinyl because of the foil between the print and the "skin".
Talolili Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks for the suggestion Kumi.
SakuraSylph Posted January 4, 2012 Is a waterslide decal the same thing usually used for plastic model kits? You get it wet, then put it in place, and it sticks when it dries. Can you make customized ones of these? (I am trying to imagine how you can get it wet in order to put it on, but not have the inkjet ink that you printed wash off). I was originally going to use a sticker printed on sticker paper to be a tattoo, but a decal could be a much classier solution if we can figure out how to do it. Kumi Posted January 4, 2012 Yes, it's the same for model kits so there are many tutorials on the net. I made Angela's eyes using waterslide decal paper and a color laser printer. I have hair now by Kumi 27, on Flickr But our company's printer wasn't very good so basically only the black turned out well. The brown You see is painted with Valleyo Acrylic after the decal was set (and the white is under the decal, also painted, because the foil is transparent). After all I sealed everything using this clear acrylic paint from Lifecolor. I've heard, that You can use the inkjet printer too, but if the ink is not water-resistant, You just have to seal the decal with clear acrylic before putting it to water. http://www.decalpaper.com/ - something similar to the one I used.
