baldylox Posted January 3, 2012 Just as a kind of quick warning to those of you who recently won the Volks Loungewear set with the button up white shirt and undies. I did a photoshoot today with Mai in this set and only had her in them for about 30-40 minutes. When I went to take the panties off to put on the bloomers and kitty tail, I saw that the panties had stained Mai's upper thighs and a small spot on her butt. I put the panties inside one of my tube socks and washed it with the rest of my laundry in hopes that it will knock out any remaining dye. I did one application of Oxy10 today and the stains only lightened a little bit so I'll have to do multiple treatments to get Mai back to clean. So if you have this outfit and haven't tried it on your girl yet, be aware that the panties WILL stain! Take care to soak or wash them beforehand! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

milkytea Posted January 3, 2012 That's too bad! Thank you for the warning! I almost wish there was a list of Volks outfits that are prone to staining DDs.
scripple Posted January 3, 2012 I almost wish there was a list of Volks outfits that are prone to staining DDs. Sadly it would be a much smaller list if you listed the Volks outfits that *weren't* prone to staining. They are unforgivably the worst company when it comes to making outfits that stain in my experience. Check out my new DollFun website. Share your own doll photos with free image hosting. Suzuna Posted January 3, 2012 That's awful. When I upgrade Suzuna to a DDIII body I'm definitely keeping the old one for stain tests!
Nightmare Tea Posted January 3, 2012 Ah, that sucks. Stain treatment must take alot of patience, in which I have none of. Also, when you try the Bunny Ears Headband & Bunny Tail Bloomers on one of your girls, can you inform me if it stains or not? Thanks!
Galvatim Posted January 3, 2012 Sorry to hear that, I hope Mai's stain treatments don't take too long! Ah, that sucks. Stain treatment must take alot of patience, in which I have none of. Also, when you try the Bunny Ears Headband & Bunny Tail Bloomers on one of your girls, can you inform me if it stains or not? Thanks! I haven't had any issues with the bunny tail bloomers, Aoi has been wearing them for the past two days.

baldylox Posted January 3, 2012 With the way your girls are, Mai Is a setting duck with her butt up in the air being destained. She may need someone to stand watch for her. Ha ha! You may be on to something there! No worries so far tho as the only treatment she's done was with me by her side the whole time. I'll do another tonight and then again tomorrow. I'm hoping she won't need too many more after that. That's too bad! Thank you for the warning! I almost wish there was a list of Volks outfits that are prone to staining DDs. No problem, just trying to look out for others who may not have tried this one on their girl yet. And as scripple already said, it would be easier for a non-staining list from Volks. Sadly it would be a much smaller list if you listed the Volks outfits that *weren't* prone to staining. They are unforgivably the worst company when it comes to making outfits that stain in my experience. Yep, it pains me to agree but it's true. How they let things like this occur is beyond me. Is it THAT difficult to line these things? Or maybe, oh, I dunno, use NON STAINING FABRICS? Sigh.... That's awful. When I upgrade Suzuna to a DDIII body I'm definitely keeping the old one for stain tests! At least I caught it in time before it got really badly stained. I know they will come out tho as they aren't as bad as Yoko's were when I first got her. I need to do like Scripple and get a shin or something to do tests on first. Ah, that sucks. Stain treatment must take alot of patience, in which I have none of. Also, when you try the Bunny Ears Headband & Bunny Tail Bloomers on one of your girls, can you inform me if it stains or not? Thanks! Yeah it takes time and patience but I have those. As for the Bunny sets, I agree with Galvatim, I have seen NO evidence of staining on Mamimi and she's had her set on for over a full day. So I wouldn't worry about that set. Sorry to hear that, I hope Mai's stain treatments don't take too long! Thanks. I think maybe a week of treatments should have these gone. littlebearries Posted January 4, 2012 This is really weird, my Alna has been wearing this set for days and it hasn't stained her at all. I'm beginning to wonder if they haven't used several different vinyls for their girls... since my newer girls (Airy and Neris) stain at the drop of a hat, while it takes Alna forever to even remotely stain. Hmm.

Hmm. This is what I've been wondering as well. I have my Lily for a year, and she never has a stain on her body. But when I get Airy, she gets stained after a day after her arrival, and I'm as careful with her as with Lily. The outfit that I let my Lily wear for over a week without leaving a single stain on her stained my Airy after a day of wearing.
archangeli Posted January 4, 2012 The new "soft" vinyl that Volks started using for Airy & Neris and every girl afterwards does stain more easily. I've noticed that as well >___<" Archangeli.net | Twitter: @MsArchangeli | YouTube: Archangeli
Traveller Posted January 4, 2012 I don't own any Volks outfits yet as I am constantly put off by the very high price and the horror stories we have here of staining. The worst Staining I have had has been off Cool-Cats black stockings and a skirt that i brought off a seller on ebay. Both Aoi & Tomomi are lined up for stain removal with "removezit" once it arrives as I tend to find that Oxy10 takes forever (when I get hold of it). I think I'll do what scripple said in my thread about girls staying dressed and have a body for test run on clothes and should I upgrade my girls to the DD III body (when released for custom builds),. then I be keeping the bodys spare for these tests. I'm beginning to wonder if they haven't used several different vinyls for their girls... since my newer girls (Airy and Neris) stain at the drop of a hat, while it takes Alna forever to even remotely stain. Hmm. Well, if Alna is an older release, then it stands to reason she would be around the same age as Mai is. So they should have similar body vinyl due to age. So why would Mai stain and not Alna? A different batch of vinyl perhaps? Regardless, I did another treatment on her last night using my daylight replicating desk lamp and it REALLY made a big difference in how the stain removal went. It was a BIG difference once I wiped away the Oxy10.... the heat and light form the lamp made the stains almost totally disappear after only 3 hours! I am doing another treatment right now and will have Mai under the lamp for around 4.5 hours. We'll see how it goes later tonight. I'm very optimistic! Yes indeed, it is in fact a UV lamp! It's quite bright too and puts off a bit of heat so I have to make sure it isn't too close to the girls to cause any damage. So far I keep it about a foot away and it works great! Glad to hear you'll be getting one! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. SakuraSylph Posted January 5, 2012 Is your sun lamp something different from putting a 6500K Daylight color CFL bulb into a regular ol' desk lamp? (or is that what you did to make one?) SakuraSylph
baldylox Posted January 5, 2012 Is your sun lamp something different from putting a 6500K Daylight color CFL bulb into a regular ol' desk lamp? (or is that what you did to make one?) I've had this lamp so long I can't even remember where I got it or how much it cost. It *is* a desklamp but its got a blue base with a big on/off button on top of it and coming out of the top behind that is one of those metal "snake" pieces that you can bend and position all over the place. At the end of that "snake" is the actual lamp part with the bulb. It has a lens over the bulb and the bulb itself looks like one of those halogen ones, it's very small but very bright and warm. I'm sure you could make one similar using the bulb you mentioned tho. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
TheParadisePanda Posted January 5, 2012 One thing I find odd about my 2 dollfie dream girls is that their bust pieces (both medium size) feel really, really different. San (the DD II whose body I got for $20 at the doll show) has a very soft squishy bust. It's almost as soft as my obitsu 50cm torso and that's saying something! But my other DD II's (who I can't for the life of me think of a name for ) bust is rock hard! Unnamed dollfie was ordered brand new straight from volks and San was bought used so maybe San's bust is softer from being heated and removed many times in her previous life? I'm not sure which one stains easier since I keep everyone in white but I'm willing to bet San's weird squishy boobs would stain a heck of a lot easier then my other girls. Thanks for the description! It sounds like you have a regular snake-type desk lamp, probably using a halogen bulb, and with a cover to protect the bulb from accidentally getting touched. Halogens produce nice-colored light (to my eyes) but do burn very hot, so it'd make sense. This is a very interesting line of exploration to me - I've heard of using different types of lights to promote plant growth or kill bacteria in aquariums, but I totally didn't think about it to enhance Dollfie stain removal. What a great find. A halogen bulb will give off decent UV radiation in addition to visible light, so it would be reasonable to call that a UV light. Could you check the bottom or the inside of your fixture to see what replacement bulb it recommends? (that should tell us if it's indeed a halogen-type as it appears to be) SakuraSylph
