MarQ Posted May 21, 2019 (edited) I just came across this shocking news story https://soranews24.com/2019/05/18/otakus-beloved-anime-style-doll-kidnapped-maybe-murdered-by-bird-of-prey-at-japanese-beach/ Must be very sad for the owner. I recently visited the Enoshima / Kamakura coast and yes you can see there constantly a lot of very large birds in the sky. Eiko82 Posted May 21, 2019 Oh no, I would be devastated if a bird flew off with one of my dolls Living at my place: Rise (DD Rise Kujikawa), Chie (Smart Doll Mirai) and Aisha (Smart Doll Kurenai)
Mizuumi-no-Otome Posted May 21, 2019 Wow that's terrible! And just a little hilarious, I feel bad but I'm giggling just a little bit at how outrageous it is to hear about a massive bird grabbing a doll and flying away LOL. This excerpt is puzzling- Quote My friend has treasured his Sakura-chan doll for more than 20 years, That's the Liccarize Sakura on an Azone Emotion body, right? Definitely not 20 years old, not even five years old lol. But still pricey, I hope they find another one without spending too much on the doll and body! sahn Posted May 21, 2019 Those sound like terrifying birds if they are willing to bother people right in front of them. I think a replacement should be easy to find but it won't quite be the same as the Sakura doll he treasured for so long.

I had a seagull swoop down and steal my food out of my hands on our honeymoon in Disney World a few years ago. It was terrifying. I hope he's able to find a replacement. The odds of him finding her are pretty slim.
AeroHail Posted May 29, 2019 Aaa that's really scary! My main photography doll is smaller than his Sakura so it's a real possibility that she could be swiped away by a bird but I've never considered that a threat! Its so sad! It would be wonderful if she found her way home with the help of others. The whole thing reads like something out of a otaku based gag manga but in real life! If it happened in the middle of the manga, she'd definitely be found by the end of it. Who knows, if it the news gets popular enough, a mangaka might put it in their story. Personally, this is one of the reasons why I don't take smaller dolls out in public. My area has birds of prey and I've seen what they've done to the pigeons and lizards😵
Gabriel Posted May 29, 2019 😱 Well, that's it. None of my girls are ever going outside again. On a more generic note, this just confirms what I've always said. Birds are evil. You know why there are no dinosaurs? Birds killed them all and took their place. Birds are some evil mofos.
