These are gorgeous! Really makes me want to take some of my girls out on a hike. The posing and positioning make her look like she's way bigger than 1/3 in some of the pics too, I love that!

Indeed, the self-similarities in the structure of rubble and boulders make it fairly hard to estimate their scale without additional clues. It was fun playing around with that while shooting.

In Japan, it's the rainy season now, but that also means it's time for the Hydrangea to bloom. The Takahata-Fudouson Temple in Hino was holding a Hydrangea festival, so me and Ellie went to check it out:

Today, I went to Kasai-Rinkai-Park and had Yuuri in tow. While the weather was great, it was fairly windy (close to the sea, duh) - and who'd have thought that wind and long doll wigs don't go particularly well together...

We made the best of it and I still managed to take a couple nice shots. But back at home, I spent about an hour to de-tangle Yuuri's wig again...

I'm glad you were able to fix her wig in the end, even if it took some time! The shots are definitely worth it, she's beautiful.

Lol I like that next to last one, with the Supergirl facing into the dramatic wind pose!

Wow, there's some really great shots in this one! I think my fav is the close-up of Yuuki! It really brings out her eyes. Can't wait to see more 😄

You have one shot where the stand is visible. If you're using Photoshop, there is a newer feature called Content-Aware Fill that works like a champ to clean those up.

I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. 😅

What kind of stand is that? It looks like it works kinda like a SmD stand, but Yuuri's obviously a DD.

Hehe, thanks! Yuuri (or rather her hair) has recovered well and it was a fun little trip. - So it's a win!

As there was no way fighting the wind, I eventually tried to use it to my advantage. I do also like how that photo turned out.

Yes the Volks type K eyes are awesome. They don't work well for every eye-hole shape, but if they do, they can look mesmerizing.

Good eye! - For the tiny bit of stand that's visible here, I decided not to bother with editing it out (inconspicuous enough - if you don't know what it is).

The stands are actually already edited out from most of the other images though. The Rapidstand and Aso-bo were put to some heavy work in the last two photo sets and especially with the wind this time, hiding the stand behind the doll was a lower priority.

For editing, I use Gimp. There's a plugin called "Heal Selection" that works fairly similar to Content-Aware Fill. It's a b*tch to get it installed into your Gimp, but once it works, it's fairly neat. The"healed" areas won't always hold up to close-up inspection or need the occasional touch up, but it still makes the process much easier.

Those features are a godsend aren't they?

 

I have that same skirt in both black and white. I want to suspend chains between those rings, and make it a bit more of a punk style.

Yeah, these are awesome. You might want to check your black skirt for any stain risk: TcDoll do a good job when it comes to selecting non-staining fabrics, but from time to time the thread they use may leave stains after a few hours. Mine is fine luckily and I hope yours is too.

I especially like how it matches the Volks boots with the rings on the zippers.

Sorry, I seem to have skipped over your question in my previous answers. I was using stands from Asachan-chi.

The Rapidstand is a foldable, telescopic saddle stand and the Aso-bo is basically two SmD stands taped together with a trident on top. Both are great ways to provide a DD (or an SmD with their stand socket blocked by clothing) with similar outdoor posing capabilities that you usually see with an SmD stand.

The stands are awesome, but the manufacturer only takes orders for a couple of hours about every two months. - You have to pay really close attention, or you'll miss it...  again...  and again...

 

If there's enough interest, I could try to cobble together a review of these. - But please don't expect one too soon.

Next order period is expected from 20:00 Japan Time on 7/7. Their cart system comes up ahead of the period by a few hours, so you have time to create an account and get familiar with it. It's entirely in Japanese so you'll need to take the time. As click wars go it's not bad, I've never had issues ordering, but you won't have more than an hour or two.

That's a bummer. - Always depends on the batch you get. I have two of their black bunny suits (bought a few months apart), one stains somewhat quickly (again, just the threads) the other one doesn't stain at all...

Luckily, nothing that can't be fixed by Dream Rescue.

Last week was Tanabata here in Japan.

Many Tanabata festivals are still canceled because of the pandemic, though. So instead we held a little festival at home - complete with appropriate snacks.

I love the photoshoot, the scenes are so cute! everyone looks so beautiful and the food looks delicious!

This week, I managed to take Kanata out for a small photoshoot at Odaiba. It was extremely warm and humid so I ended up taking fewer photos than expected, but I still managed to take a couple nice ones. Enjoy:
