Can DDs go in water?

Recommended Posts

I was looking at some photos and I noticed that some people have put their dolls in water and I think it would be kinda fun to do that. But I don't know if it will damage her or not. Thanks! :3

I think they can go in water without damage, but from what I've heard you'll have to disassemble them soon afterward to dry each piece individually and prevent molding (or rusting on the metal screws in the frame)

Just keep in mind some photos hereabouts may be photoshopped.

I have heard about people doing it, but I think Serena-Hime is right about drying all the parts off. Wet vinyl = food source for mold. That adds up to a ruined doll.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

I have brought my DDs into water before.

-Fresh water only. If you take them into salt water I highly recommend finding a "junk" body somewhere and switching the bodies out. I usually have a spare "junk" body for the dirtier photoshoots.

-Take the pieces apart after your're done to properly dry them. If it's fresh lake water/outside water it's best to give it a rinse with tap water to get any bacteria or whatever out.

-Make sure to dry the screws and stuff off as best you can.

-Make sure your doll is completely dry before you put her back together. Vinyl is porous and will breed mold as BeyondTime said very easily.

-Super obvious but make sure their wigs and stuff are attached and you don't get their faces in the water. I did a few outdoor water photoshoots and some things have uh... floated away xD I got them back thankfully, but it happens.

Overall you'll be fine if you bring them in the water. Just be sure to dry :)
