I think Volks did a good job here in representing these two; however, I don't care for the design of these characters, and I have no attachment to them as I only watched the very beginning of the show because I found it to be too explicitly bloody and violent for me.

Somewhat difficult to tell as the hair covers so much of their faces plus the usual Volks lighting and photography, but I believe these follow the recent Volks trend of small nose with little or no bridge and a fairly overall flat face.

I think they would be easy to make a custom of (possibly for cheaper) since the clothes and wigs aren't that difficult to replicate.

I really love Rem’s sweet smile but my wallet is safe. And safe of If I pick only one will be incomplete without her twin...

I think they do look cute and like the characters they are based off of. From a DD perspective, I would be more interested in seeing more of Ram because I like my frowny grumpy sculpts. (I also like my smiley sculpts, but those arent difficult to come by, and just the other day I was thinking I'd like to see more frowny or neutral sculpts).

What gets me is that weird orange chin blushing...? I kinda hope that doesn't become a trend cos I really don't like it. It looks like they got into the Cheetos a bit. It may look better in person of course. Aside from that, I really like the faceups they have, the eyes especially look nice.

Surely that's not real? Just some kind of lighting artifact? If that is actually there then Volks must have gone insane.

The face in a bag of cheetos analogy was awesome. 😄

I would want to see owner photos before judging that. Sometimes Volks photos really make the faceups look over saturated. Freya Won is a good example of that. I don't believe they would make dolls with chins that look stained with orange.

That might be it; the cheek blushing looks a lot more intense than anything I can think of Volks actually doing (there's probably an exception to that too ).

Looking at the picture again they may have nudged the saturation, or color balance to correct or enhance the dolls hair and eyes. You can in theory mask when you do this, but hair is a real pain to mask, and color balance changes can end up looking really funky when you mask.

Edit: Just to clarify I am thinking that if they did adjust saturation / color they may have decided the final product looked better if they didn't mask parts that just wouldn't mask well or produce acceptable results.

I'm going to predict $650.  Within $20 of that, probably low end.

 

They're both really cute, but not only did I not get into Re:Zero, I can't imagine anyone else I'd like them to be. Well, that's partially a lie: I could totally see Ram as Homura, but I already HAVE a Homura. Maybe Rem would make a cute MDD, but not enough for me to want to actually buy her.

Maybe yukatas? But Emilia didn’t get any alternate so maybe it’s again a no (I’m still hurting about the NieR preorder not having A2 outfit)

In the 42959385835 scale figures released of these two, there were:

1. Bunny Maid costumes
2. Swimwear
3. Yukatas
4. Lingerie
5. Wedding dresses (which were actually more lingerie)
6. School Uniforms
7. Whatever this is

...and no doubt lots more. Of course, scale figures are often based on some one-off piece of art, which isn't something Volks would likely make an outfit from. I don't know what they wore in the anime since I didn't get far enough into it to even see these two.

Lately, it seems a lot like Volks at most releases the one extra oufit with a doll and then nothing further. So far only the one extra outfit for Luka, Kaede, Anastasia, Iori and Yayoi, nothing for Yuriko Nanao, and even Miku now seems to be just yearly Snow Miku outfits and the special collaboration things like the vampire girl outfit. It's also been a few years now since one of the themed Idolmaster sets intended for a group of the girls came out after the dolls' release. While they're somewhat unique situations, there was nothing for 2B and 9S, or Sakura Miku.

Honestly, I wish they’d release Rem with her morning star as an optional item.  It would be huge, but really cool!  I somehow doubt we’ll get that though...

The only other outfits they have in the show is their matching childhood kimonos in white with blue/pink trim. 

Ram is really cute! 

I love their faceups. It looks like Volks put a lot of effort in them, and they look true to their character designs. 
Now I kind of wish that they'd re-release Emilia so that she can get the same treatment. Emilia * is * very pretty, and her headmold is nice, but her faceup doesn't look like her character at all. 

Anyways, I look forward to see more pictures on Monday. 

Wow I’ve never even watched Re:Zero, but I adore Ram!! Her face is so cute, if I was a fan of the series she would be an instabuy (luckily for my wallet I’m not..)

I never got into Re:Zero but Rem is really cute. Always a sucker for sweet, smiling girls. But my wallet is safe.

I would really like Ram but not her default outfit. I can see her as a shy, punky style girl. 

I like these two, but I have no connection to the series so I thankfully don't need them. I didn't notice the Cheetos Chin(TM) until it was pointed out, but now I can't unsee it. I'm not a fan either. xD;

Wow, I'm really in love with these two!! Since I am familiar with the series, I do think they did an excellent job representing the characters. I'd really love to get both if I can, but we'll have to see, the timing may not work out for me.

I also didn't notice the chin thing, until it was pointed out. I'm really hoping it was just an adjustment issue, or maybe only placed there for the photo.

Ohh, when are the gonna be released if you know? Sorry, I'm new to these things. I like them both, I think Ram's most flexible for my style since I like serious faces.

They haven't put the dates up, but I think the Dolpa is in August. The international web event and the Volks USA event will probably be late August or early to mid September.
