DDS Rem and Ram (Re:zero)

These two are very adorable! Usually I have been safe, but when I saw this picture I fell in love. Know nothing about the series than the name and character designs though I'm told I should give it a watch (which will happen eventually). I love Ram's grumpy look, but I'm always a sucker for smiles especially tiny smiles like Rem is sporting. I noticed the shading on the chin as well and hoping it looks better in person. I want to say I will go for Rem, but something else may pop up that I want more (always happens 😂). So for now I am tentatively planning to enter for Rem 🙃

Akira's default faceup has chin blushing and it is not so obvious or orange in person. They probably do just have the color saturation at a weird level. Hopefully there will be more pictures in other sets, then maybe there will be different lighting and color balance.

Very pretty both dolls, but i prefer Ram face. For the people who dont have seen the anime its a very very gore anime and so sad, the main character Subaru died so many and bloody times, but i like the anime. I hope some day Volks make more male characters.

Yep the gore was what I couldn't take, I only watched I think 2 episodes before I stopped and by that point it was already obvious it wasn't going to be any different.

I think they really hit it spot on with the design - they look so much like their anime counterparts.

But the chin blushing... It is noticeable in nearly all of their pictures in the new Volks News. Volks will likely have them on display at Doll Point Akiba soon enough - so next time I'm there I'll check how it looks in reality and try to take some decent pictures as well.

Oh, Ram is precious. Rem is too, but I agree, she's very standard. The face-ups are so accurate tho! I watched this anime (though I think I watched the censored version lmao) and these two look crazy accurate. I do however feel that Volks is a lil late to the show considering just how many iterations of these girls have been made. They'll still sell well, I'm sure.

Ram is SO cute! I love her adorably grumpy face. I'm looking forward to seeing photos from when they're on display at Dollpo as I'd like to see their faces from different angles... and see what's going on with that chin blushing.

So.. I don't have a DD yet.

But.

I kind of fell in love with Ram.

I've never seen the anime before and I know nothing about the characters but I really love her head and I think she would make a really good fit for the custom character I have in mind. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of them, because, it does kind of depend on the Cheeto Chin situation lol

Normally I would be all over these two because they hit some big loves of mine:

Blue Hair

Pink Hair

 

But I really just have to say no this time.  There's something about them that just seems off to me and I can't pinpoint it at all.  At least it saves me some money!

 

*ALTHO* if anyone decides they don't want the default outfits for either of these girls I'd be super interested in buying just the maid setup!  😄  Just tossing that out there.  😉

They are both spot on for the anime in terms of expression and costume. I like both expressions, they definitely are great as a set!

Ram looks like a grumpy luka to me,(must be the pink hair) and Rem looks like a sailor mercury/ddh11 combo. 

Ive set ridiculously strict parameters on what type of doll to buy, or I’d be leaning towards Ram. We need more grumpy attitude sculpts!

Both look good but I am safe thank goodness. 

Will more info be released or will her preorder/lottery be during Dolpa? I'm new to keeping up with releases! 

 

They did really well with both of their faces! I like Rem's pouty expression rather than just blank.

More info will be released as the Dolpa approaches.  

The international web lottery info will be released as a part of the afterevent, and those pages usually go up after the Dolpa.  

Will be interesting to see exactly how they are handled i.e. typical lottery, or some kind of variant like how Luka, Kaede or Matoi were done.

Welp I've officially become attached to Ram and will be getting her as my first DD; I've never done a Volks lottery or anything like that before so I am both excited and scared. But her face, it's just perfect.

If anyone here gets them and doesn't want their cross shaped hair clips, uhm, please I need them. I have been searching for so long for hair clips like this for dolls and have had 0 luck. 

pls someone.

Now what I really hope is that maybe Emilia will get a rerelease?! I can cross my fingers

Will they be available online, or just at the event? I'm a little confused by the wording on their pages 😓

They will be available at the Dolpa in Japan, and at the after event on the 31st of August. The after event site isn't up, and usually doesn't go up until after the Dolpa. Keep in mind, the 31st in Japan is the 30th in North & South America.

There are three possibilities (that we know of) for how they will be sold. They will announce which method they choose ahead of time.

Lottery, and usually you have a window of a few days to enter. Win rates vary a lot release to release.

Clickwar, and do try to get them if it is clickwar, but honestly go into it expecting disappointment. Their website will probably go down from the load when the event starts, and the resellers may end up with all the dolls. To get through this you will need to check back often if the site is non-responsive. I'm sorry to be so pessimistic here, but the Miku clickwar was a disaster for almost everyone except the resellers.

Limited pre-order, and so far this year they haven't done this, so I kind of think is is the least likely of the three. This is usually a first come first served pre-order where they accept orders until a perdetermined number is reached. With Luka they did a pre-order lottery, and if you lost you still got Luka, but 10 months later. Unless they change the rules, you will pay full price up front for the pre-order.

They will also be available through Volks USA, probably around the time of the after event. If you are in North America you may get a second chance if you can't get them through Japan. On rare occasion the Volks USA event is USA only due to licensing constraints.

Hmm! I was just rewatching Re: Zero, so these two are fresh in my mind. They look really cute, about as accurate as I can expect for a DD (okay the detail on the bust is off and does bug me a little). I think the lines and color on Ram's mouth could be lighter. Cute dolls, nice outfits, I wish I could just buy up any DD I fancy, but I really don't need anymore!

Looking at Ram, I can't help but think she'd make a cute B2, since I prefer an anime look over the more realistic B2 sculpt.

The girls were on display at DDFes today and I really am falling in love with Ram.. I never finished the anime but there is just something about her doll that hits me square in the heart. Rem is cute too of course but I may be trying to bring Ram home....

Didn't notice the cheeto chin in person.
