I think it's because they were released at Hometown dolpa 7.  Rem and Ram haven't been made available yet via an After Event, but I presume they were available to attendees of the event.

Yes the girls were available for people attending Nagoya Dolpa.

63,000 yen each plus 8% tax (or "fee" for international users).

 

 

The VolksUSA event page is up. Each is $630.

One thing that surprised me, but probably shouldn't have, was that the dolls won't be delivered until November.  Payment for lottery winners is due by September 23.

Why are the Dolls going to be delivered so late?is this just for the volks USA or every shop? 

Probably a Volks USA thing.  They slow boat the dolls from Japan.

Makes sense. Its does take Volks Japan a while to ship orders. Plus with all the events they been doing too. 

So how many of us are actually going for Ram or Rem? I’m pretty excited for the release on Saturday, just gotta hope for good luck to get my Ram. And my luck is usually poor for Dollfies...

I'm undecided.  But my poor impulse control will likely get the better of me and I'll do a lottery entry for a Rem this weekend.

No real idea.

I know for clothes I win nearly everything I enter for.  It's only the odd release where I miss/whiff on something.

For dolls, I've only ever entered one doll lottery and that was for Rin Tohsaka v2, and that was 4 years ago or so.  Back then there was some polling done here (the old version of the forum) and some back of the napkin analysis done.  The informal research seemed to indicate that about 50% of entrants won the right to purchase the doll back then.  But that was far from scientific.  Plus, it was a long time ago and Volks has definitely changed their production numbers since then.

I haven't really kept track of the lottery dolls, but if I had to venture an uneducated guess, I'd say the win rate has been much better since Rin v2.  I don't recall anywhere near as much "wailing and gnashing of teeth," and that's probably why I don't recall other lottery dolls.  I do have a dim recollection of some other lottery doll and a similar thread were we posters were trying to figure out win rates.  I think with that one the win rate was something like 75%.  But I don't recall which doll and I might just be imagining it.

It all really boils down to supply and demand.  I don't know how popular the property these girls are from is among fans, dollfie fans in particular.  I know they have to be fairly popular, because I see a fair number of figures of them.

These look to be pretty major releases.  Volks has been preparing for this one for a while and really promoting it.  My thought is that win percentages will be pretty good.

And even if you lose the lottery, I don't think it's out of the question to expect the dolls to be sold again early next year or maybe even offered up again sometime near the end of November.  Licensed dolls seem to always have a main launch and then have little intermittent sales again for a while after.

Haha well if you do enter good luck! It’s great that USA is getting online lottery options. Much better than the click war for international and Japan.

Regarding what you said about intermittent sales. If that’s the case I think it’s very much a Volks USA thing. The unpopular dolls tend to be available online or at stores in Japan until sold out but I don’t remember seeing additional sales for popular ones in Japan/International minus Vocaloids and unpaid lottery wins. Honestly I was a little miffed with the USA special events with limited doll resales available as I’ve never seen that in Japan since I moved here. Someone with a better memory feel free to correct me though. 

 

Edit: oh there were some very limited Akihabara Girls released again. But I don’t count them so much since Volks owns the license for them.

I think I may try for Rem even though I like Ram. Rem is pretty cool and I noticed frowning dolls don’t stay in my hands for long.

Can’t wait to see pictures of these girls in festive clothes. I imagine they’ll be super cute in Christmas oufits.

I haven't gotten a DD in a clickwar so a bit unfamiliar, it's always been lottery for me but haven't gotten an event doll in quite some time now. Anyway once added to cart do I have a set amount of time to complete payment to get her or is she only won once payment is complete?

I believe they are only secured once paid. They don’t hold items in the cart for you anymore since the update.

Interesting to see more interest in Rem here as Ram seems more popular in Japan (the doll anyway).

I’m currently at Dollpoint and secured my tickets for both dolls (only Ram will be mine, Rem belongs to another, I am just so happy!!!) 203 people lined up with the lottery draw at 197. From what I saw Ram has sold out first and Rem is still being handed out to the line. They had maybe 100 of each but hard to say really. 

Best of luck to everyone for the click war and lotteries. I wish you all success! Now to wait an hour for the store to open so I can try for clothes too!

Sadly the website won't allow me to log in. Warning comes up saying website is experiencing heavy traffic.... 

The website is totally down for me.  I was already logged in and was on Rem's order page and now no part of the website will load....

I'm on the "Cart confirm" step... I keeping trying to refresh to move it forward.

The clothing items started two hours earlier, and I've been trying to buy something the entire time with no success. At least then pages loaded sometimes; it was just impossible to actually check out. Now with the addition of these two dolls and people still trying to buy clothing it's totally dead.

Volks' new website is even worse than the old one was. That one was frustrating, but I actually bought something during these events a couple of times.

Why the dolls weren't lottery I have no idea.

I just got through PayPal step, but I have no idea if it actually processed. It doesn't look like they took money out yet. I can only assume that it errored out on the redirect back to the Volks web site...

 

Noooo the page is loading now, but there's no add to cart button.  Is Rem sold out already?

Sometimes I'll see the Rem and Ram page but can't add them to cart and my girlfriend has gotten Rem into the cart but still can't sign in... Is this the ultimate battle of attrition? Eventually people will give up and then it will work?..... I had logged in a few hours back and it was working then at least. 

I messaged Volks just in case to let them know although sure they know at this point. 

I got to a page called "cart_complete.html" after pressing order... does this mean I've done it...?!?! AHHHHHH I HAVE NO IDEA

how did you get so far? Did you have to bleed onto the keyboard in order to summon the pages? XD Damn Spiritual Hackers!
